How you look at holidays may not be the same way another person looks at them. Indeed, you may be sharing your life with someone who has a different attitude to them than you do. Maybe you’re a committed sightseer married to someone who wants to sunbathe by the pool. Or a staycationer who lives with a person who wants to see the world.

Maybe you’re someone who likes to travel in style, only to find when you’re planning a holiday together that they love camping. What do you do then?

The answer is more simple than it may seem. While the first two examples are hard to square, camping and glamor can fit together pretty snugly. You’ve probably even heard the word for that – glamping.

Glamping it’s Like Camping Tshirt

(Yes, it’s not a great word, is it? It sounds like a health problem.)

Camping in style is far from impossible, so long as you’re well prepared. You’d be surprised how much fun it can be if you make the right choices. And if you’re wondering what the right choices are, read on.

Location: Ready Made Or Your Choice

The most important thing about a vacation is where you go. Let’s face it; relaxation is nice and the holiday vibe is key too. But you could get all of that at home. The location is what matters most, and there are plenty of glamorous camping locations you could choose.

There are dedicated glamping sites domestically and abroad (http://style.time.com/2012/09/07/10-unique-glamping-destinations/). If you don’t want to be tied to somewhere specific, you can choose your location and glamp it up yourself.

Equipment: Travel How You Want But Stay In Style

It matters not whether your destination is overseas or a few states over. If you’re not staying on a dedicated “glampsite,” you’ll need to make it so. Sleeping bags are not comfortable enough, so you will need an air mattress. Find the best for your budget by checking the likes of sleeponair.net. Then pick a tent that allows you room and comfort.

Of course, you’ll need a shower too. If you don’t shower, glamping is immediately downgraded to camping. Luckily, there are portable showers you can bring along – and if you’re prepared to spend a bit of money, they’re quite luxurious. Think of the money you’re saving on hotels, and they’re cheap too.

What To Do When There: It’s All Up To You

Dedicated glampers are so fond of this way of holidaying for one reason above all. It allows a great deal of freedom in a way no other holiday does. Your location is up to you, and you can choose what you do while there. If you travel in an RV, as many do, any roadside can be your hotel.

To get the best of this freedom, a nature walk is advisable. Pack some comfortable shoes and do all you can to avoid sore feet. Where you walk is dependent on where you stay – but beaches, mountainsides, and forests are all a possibility. In the evenings? Well, as with everything else, the choice is yours.
