Target is bae and has been bae since my mom and sister came home from a weekend shopping trip like 15 year ago with wild stories of a store with an escalator just for carts. When I was in college, my mom gave me a Target card because they had everything I could need and they were also far superior to Walmart. Cheese? They got it. Sundress? Check! Storage ottoman? YOU BETCHA! And now you can add discount BaubleBar to the mix with SUGARFIX, the sweetest jewelry collab, only at Target.

I checked out SUGARFIX the last time I was in a Target and was overall very pleased with the quality. The chunky statement necklaces were a little lighter than the original BaubleBar brand, but I can’t even say that’s a bad thing. The price is nice- think about half of what you’d expect to spend with BaubleBar- and a lot of it is on clearance PLUS 20% off clearance with the code SAVE20. ALSO- you can earn cashback shopping SUGARFIX by BaubleBar with ebates!

One of the best parts of Bubbles & Bloggers is the fact that we support our own bosses in their entrepreneurial endeavors. A couple weekends ago, we had a Shop The City meetup to check out and support a relatively new business venture by our friend and member Sahra. It’s exactly how what it sounds like- a shopping tour of some amazing local spots. I won’t spoil it for you- go on the tour and see it for yourself! We started on 14th Street, hitting up some spots I’ve heard up but had never been to, which was pretty awesome. After a brief(ish) stop to take pictures in front of the totes-appropes WORK IT GURL mural (where I quick-changed into my new rose gold skirt in the parking lot), we hopped in our own private bus and headed to Georgetown. We saw a few boutiques there before a massive storm hit and we ran to the Graham for Amanda’s Whistle & Wild popup and Marisa’s mini styling session.

Really late in the game, Dani thought it might be fun to pop a Sex and the City theme on our day. B&B usually themes our events, and this theme made a lot of sense for a day of shopping with lady-friends. I’m not sure if I totally nailed it, but Dani said I was a Carrie Diaries version of Carrie Bradshaw. I’ll take it! What do you think?

Yes, I got this skirt while shopping.

I sometimes think of my blog as a paper doll or a mood board. It’s a place for my to put together looks that I may not ever wear IRL and that’s ok. Finding inspiration from other bloggers, or even one element of an outfit online can spark a whole look for me. This is one of those looks.

I have said multiple times that dressing for work is hard for me in the summer. I’m just kind of hot and miserable. Kristyn posted this Embellished Sheath Dress on Instagram a couple weeks ago and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. I haven’t pulled the trigger on it because I haven’t decided about shopping for new work clothes before I start my new job, but it’s definitely on my wish list!

A dress like that doesn’t really need a necklace because of the embellishments, but I think the Piña Studs compliment the beading on the dress perfectly.

The bags I use for day-to-day need to be big enough for my planner, my wallet, phone, ipod, headphones, and “social pouchy” (the silly name by bestie and I call the pouches we move from purse to purse that’s pre-packed with essentials like mini-brushes and perfume samples). The Ted Baker London Blossom Leather Tote fits the bill AND it has cherry blossoms on it’ so this DC girl approves.

I’m kind of a little booboo b*tch when it comes to wearing heels. Just not a fan and I complain about my feet hurting and it’s bad time for everyone involved. The exception comes in two forms: a low, block heel, or a sweet pair of espadrilles like these Caterina Scalloped Cutout Suede Wedge Espadrilles.

It’s cooling down a bit (for now) but aside from that, offices are always chilly. I always keep a cardigan or a scarf like the Badgley Mischka Ocelot Jacquard Wrap at my desk. And don’t forget a great pair of sunnies like these Round Cat Eye Sunglasses, which have 100% UV protection.

Have you ever seen a piece that inspired a whole look?

The skirt from this post can now be found on ebay

Remember when I told you about my awesome Loft haul from their awesome sale? It turns out that only about half of it worked out- sizing issues. I’m a petite, through and through. The Petite Diamond Shimmer Skirt was definitely one of the items I kept. I just feel so happy + pretty in it. Isn’t that the point of dressing? Finding something that that makes you feel good?

The skirt kind of speaks for itself, so I didn’t want to do too much with the rest of the outfit. Enter trusty black OTK boots and a black shirt I’ve probably had since high school. The necklace is great though, isn’t it? I also caught that one major sale. I don’t think the Courtney Pearl Bib is available anymore, but the original Courtney can be found here.

My new wristlet will probably be making a lot of appearances. Unfortunately right before New Year’s Eve, I lost my entire wallet with license, house key, credit card, debit card, Metro card, JRINK frequent buyer card… EVERYTHING. I got everything replaced, but the wallet was so perfect that I was hard pressed to find another with the exact shape and functionality with brass hard-wear. Like, I got really weird about how specific I needed this wallet to be. I wanted it to unzip all the way around so I could swipe my Metro card easily. I ended up finding this new one at Target, of all places. This was after checking the usual suspects- Nordstrom, Macy’s, even Kate Spade.

I’m loving these little rooftop photo shoots… even if I do freeze.

One of my favorite trends to come out this spring has been statement earrings, and I know I’m not the only one! (Um hi BaubleBar, can we get these back in stock please?) I think I like the idea so much because statement earrings are such a good way to show your personality, even if you have a strict dress code. And this might sound totally weird, but to me they’re like a less inyourface version of the pompom sandal that it seemed like only bloggers were wearing last year. Does that make any sense?

I remember when I first got my ears pierced. I was in 9th grade and I fiddled with the studs so much that they actually popped out, got infected, and I had to have them re-pierced. When I could finally get to the point that I could safely change out of my sparkly safety studs, I was ecstatic. Even then, I was all about that statement earring life. I ended up getting two holes in each ear, and every outfit went with specific earrings. My favorite pair was from either Claire’s or Hot Topic. One was a guitar pick and the other a guitar because I was so ~*edgy*~. Now it’s kind of totally a thing to have mismatched ears!

The past couple years, I haven’t been great about wearing earrings at all. Just like everything else about me, my ears are super sensitive. If I remember, I put in either simple posts or easy Kendra Scott dangles, but some of the awesome statement earrings I’ve seen recently may have me going back to my old ways!
