It was one of those weeks that dragged so badly that I thought it was Wednesday for half a day on Thursday. This weekend includes catching up with Kendall after a week of opposite schedules, shooting with Sarah on Sunday morning, a music meeting with my wedding church, and stuffing some wedding invites with my mom. Very grateful for some fam time on Superbowl Sunday as well. I honestly couldn’t care less about football, but I love eating with my family so there.

I’ve got my eye on…

Have you ever heard of Brandless? All of their products are $3, good for you, and good for the planet! I plan on making the switch to Brandless products ASAP, the next time I need anything around the house. I’ll let you know how that goes!

Swoozies has an amazing selection of Kate Spade gifts for spring. All of it is adorable, obviously.

How freakin’ cute are these little love potion bottles? Perfect for a wedding or Valentine’s Day party favor!

Don’t forget you can always peek at my wish list over in my sidebar. Here’s what I’m currently craving:

Around the internet

Kendall and I decided we are going to get serious about being healthy and fit. I hopped to Trader Joe’s to get fruit, almond milk, and other fixins for smoothies. I found this guide to making the perfect smoothies but I want to know- what’s yours? via Yogurtiamo

How awesome does Dani look with this vintage styling?

Rox dropped some pretty great golden birthday wisdom that I can totally get down with!

I’m pretty sure that every party should have an herb wall for surprise cocktails like the Segura Viudas Open Up Cava Event at Heist that Sarah went to.

Baby- it’s cold outside and finally feeling a little Christmassy! Kendall and I are doing Georgetown Glow tonight and then we both have family coming in for a very special weekend. On Sunday, we’re getting a betrothal blessing from my hometown church in Olney and then one of my bridesmaids’ family is hosting a bridal luncheon for me. We finally have our own little tree up and decorated, but I can’t wait to see my parents’ house because my mom does it so nice.

Merry Christmas Happy Holidays Digital Print

Lately on The CaroLøve:

If you’re around this weekend, head to Georgetown to shop with a cause at the AerieREAL Pop-Up Tour with my girl Sarah!

Take a peek at some of my current Aerie faves!

I just checked my Spotify Wrapped (basically a rundown of what I listened to this year) and I was not surprised in the least by my stats. But if you want to go further back in time with your music, say, the day you were born, check out the Nostalgia Machine.

You may have seen the little ornament I got Kendall for our tree this year- a perfectly personalized little red Christmas car from The Pine And The Poppy. I’m not sure how I started collecting Christmas cars, but it’s totally a thing now. These are just a few other little Christmas car collectables I’ve found.

Jennifer was wearing THE CUTEST earrings on her Instagram this week! Find them in 4 colors at J. Crew!

Dani had two posts I want to share with you this week: Gifts for Crazy Cat Ladies (where I took her picture) + The BITD Local DC Gift Guide (where she mentions my Zazzle shop!)

Sarah of District Damsel was there the day that Bubbles & Bloggers was born. We got closer when a few of us had a girls’ night that started at her apartment, and she became on of my best friends the day we got up at the crack of dawn to shoot fall clothes in 90 degree weather for Whistle & Wild. Over champagne, in her rooftop pool, we traded crazy college (and post-college) stories, compared our seemingly equally fabulous grandmothers, talked fantasy future weddings, and then split a veggie pizza. It was the perfect Saturday afternoon.

I also think she has the coolest job with Streetsense, and even though she’s slightly younger than I am, I truly look up to her. Her style is definitely more daring than mine (I can’t do plunging necklines, no matter how many times Kendall tells me I might be able to) but I totally dig how she can make budget pieces look like a zillion bucks.

Beautiful Smile – The Afters

Sorry – Justin Bieber

Body Language – Jesse McCartney (wow, I am a basic bitch)

8 reasons that you love your life

All of the people in my life who support and believe in me

That I live in a country where I have freedom to express myself without consequences

The recent “women supporting women” movement that I’ve been lucky enough to witness firsthand

I’m employed by a creative company whose work I feel a strong sense of pride about (and that lets me wear whatever I want to work!)

I’m dating and living with my best friend

I can support myself financially enough to live an urban lifestyle

Dogs and their unconditional love exist

7 essentials in your closet

Bodysuits, Converse sneakers, my moto jeans from Top Shop, black Steve Madden OTK boots, ankle strap heels from Lulus, an absurd fur vest from H&M, and my (p)leather skater skirt from ASOS

6 non-electronic things you can’t live without

The manfriend, puppies, urban life, chips & salsa, cheese, and family

5 people who have impacted your life

My parents, my blog squad, the manfriend, my business frat Pi Sigma Epsilon, and my colleagues at Streetsense (that’s like 500 people, but you get the idea!)

4 places you’d like to visit

Charleston, SC, Dubai, anywhere in Italy (I’ve been to certain parts before, but would go back in a heartbeat!), and Thailand

3 unpopular opinions you have

I’m a vegetarian, so meat-lovers tend to think I’m crazy! This might depend on who you ask, but I believe that dogs are better than cats (although kitties are growing on me.) I truly don’t get the hype about Snap Chat – maybe because I’m terrible at taking selfies?

2 things that scare you

Not making an impact on the world and losing a loved one.

1 quote to live by

“Be the person your dog things you are.” I’M A CRAZY DOG LADY AND I DON’T EVEN HAVE MY OWN DOG!

Happy Friday! Our CFO is retiring next week so I’ll be busy all afternoon helping to set up his Margaritaville sendoff. Tomorrow, Sarah and I are shooting (Yay! Outfit posts coming!) then heading to Chaplin’s. Sunday, Kendall and I are going to church where we would like to be married and then to Baltimore we go for Simple Plan! I love going to concerts with my (now) fiance! PLUS we have some great news- we settled on a reception venue so things are really getting rolling for our wedding next year!

Engaged bride-to-be gift box

This video from Upworthy actually gave me chills- totally made me rethink the phrase “special needs.”

I am so proud of Kaylin Yost! She was a year below my sister in elementary school and her brother Alex was in my class. She’s overcome great obstacles to be a fantastic pro golfer!

Speaking of incredible female athletes, Allure‘s video of Alicia Napoleon takes a hard look at beauty standards for women and women in sports.

I am such a DC girl, but if I was a state who walked into a bar, I’d be a Maryland through and through. via The Federalist Papers

I love lavender + lemonade. I also have anxiety. This lavender lemonade sounds like it might be perfect for me!

I’m tardy to the party sharing this because I didn’t do a TGIF last week but how stunning are Dani + Jen in the new line from Blake Porter Studio?

Have a great weekend!

Find your tribe + love them hard

Last Friday, I got to meet up with some lovely ladies for my second #BubblesAndBloggers event. Originally organized by Dani of Blonde in the District, it’s an inclusive but tight-knit group of DC bloggers who come together to talk shop, learn from each other, and spread the positive vibes that are sometimes lacking in the blogging world. No competition, only encouragement.

Our sweet hostess for the evening was Sarah of District Damsel. Did you see the spread she had out for us before we all went out? We demolished it. And drank several bottles of champs. We giggled, we chatted, and we cheers!-ed quite a bit before heading out to Sax. In fact, it was about 15 mins after we were originally set to leave that we got down to business. I mentioned my potential re-brand and was met with a ton of encouragement and advice to flush my ideas out some more before I make any big decisions.

We also talked our own styles through the eyes of the group. Sarah looked at me and immediately said, “GIRLY!” Fair enough. If it was socially acceptable, I think I would wear a tutu at all times. I can’t do that, but I can rock a tulle skirt on a Saturday night. Fun fact; this particular tulle skirt is actually from the kids section at Target.
