The Maldives

A honeymoon in the Maldives will make any of your friends green with envy. This remote location offers honeymooners some of the most beautiful golden beaches that are bordered by crystal-clear waters. It’s warm, there are plenty of luxurious resorts to indulge in and there are plenty of romantic locations to explore with your partner. There’s even an underwater restaurant in the Maldives that, while expensive, offers you an experience unlike any other on the planet. As you wine and dine with your partner, you’ll be surrounded by tropical aquatic life 5.8 meters beneath the surface of the ocean.

Kyoto, Japan

In comparison to the beaches and nightlife of the Maldives, Kyoto offers the complete opposite but still manages to be exotic in its own right. Rest and relax in this tranquil city with picturesque sights, iconic cherry blossom viewings and traditional teahouses. If you have any kind of interest in Japanese culture, then it doesn’t get much better than a honeymoon to Kyoto. It’s a refreshing sight compared to the hustle and bustle of city life, and there’s plenty of romantic locations to visit if you want some beautiful and memorable honeymoon photographs.

Machu Picchu Pueblo, Peru

Exotic means adventurous, and there are very few places on earth that offer the kind of excitement and adventure that Machu Picchu Pueblo offers. Though the name might sound strange or even silly, it’s one of the world’s great historical sites, making this one of those once-in-a-lifetime places that you have to visit before you retire. Hotels and food in the area are generally quite cheap despite offering plenty of luxuries. There’s a lot of trekking involved, so unless you’re ready to be on your feet for most of the day, you’ll probably want to take it easy in Peru. There’s so much wonder and charm to uncover in Machu Picchu Pueblo that you’ll leave feeling enlightened.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

When you want to go big, you go to Dubai. It offers some of the world’s most luxurious hotels and resorts, yet at the same time gives you access to wonderful beaches, desert tours and a wide range of delicious foods. With so much to see and do in Dubai, it might even feel surreal. It’s definitely one of the more exotic locations in the world to visit for a honeymoon. You’ll feel like royalty in most of the luxury hotel, yet you can get adventurous in the desert with camel rides and jeep tours.

Dubai is becoming one of the most favorite holiday destination for people all over the world, but especially for affluent Westerners who want sun, sand, culture, and relaxation. Where you are planning a family holiday, a honeymoon or just a dream destination that you’ve been saving up for, Dubai knows no equal. Of course, it must compete with the attractions of similar, sunbathed cities, so there are many bars, clubs, restaurants and performance shows. But truthfully, the city was designed from the first brick that was layed, to be a getaway experience of pure luxury. No other place in the world comes close because here, you can eat a caviar breakfast, enjoy a back massage, go jet skiing, dine at a 5-star restaurant and enjoy a hand and face massage by the pool; all in one day. There are so many things on offer; it would be foolish to even try to list them. However, here’s a taste of what you may find to your liking.

Burj Khalifa Tower

Facial massage

As part of the range of bespoke Dubai spas available to members, an intricate, supple and subduing 45-minute facial massage awaits those who want it. The Sofitel Dubai Hotel, offering nothing but the best in luxury and elegance, embellishes customers with an alluring 1-house Polynesian massage or an adventurous Bamboo Fusion massage for an hour and a half. The spa has an infinity pool with natural light coming from the lavender aroma candles. Immerse yourself totally in the experience with Ayurvedic healing practices and scientifically approved contemporary healing techniques. The journey isn’t complete until your body is expunged all off impurities by the steam and sauna rooms.

One for the ladies

Schedule an escape to the tranquil surrounds of the Desert Palm Hotel spa, where you’ll be pampered like a movie star with treatments in the state of the art Lime Spa. With a backdrop of exuberant green polo fields, you’ll be shown the true meaning of relaxation. The spa begins with your therapist discussing what you’d like. The most popular technique of breaking the ice is to have an innovating massage that seeks out knots, aches, and tension and looks to melt them away. Inspired by Swedish, Thai, Japanese and Balinese healing techniques, the masseuse is trained in deep penetrating massage strokes, as well as waking up your nerves and ligaments with the mysterious art of reflexology. If you want to truly soften up your limbs and joints, try the hot stone treatment, which increases blood flow to certain areas and demands the body’s immune system to rejuvenate.

Skin scrubs

At the 5-star establishment of Kempinski Hotel Ajman, awaits you skin enhancing treatment that you won’t be forgetting anytime soon. Inspired by a fusion of cultures, from Thailand, Europe, and the Middle East, you’ll receive the Ajman Sunrise Ritual. The experience takes on a holistic approach to your well-being, and commencing with a 20-minute body scrub; your body will be infused with natural ingredients that purge toxins and give life to new skin cells. Next, you’ll be wrapped in green tea leaves for 90 minutes before another 40-minute treatment to brighten your skin and remove any marks, spots, cut, grazes and bruises.

If you have got a bit of the January blues, then it might be time to start planning your next vacation. Summer just seems so far away, so you might be thinking of a bit of last minute winter sun. If you are, then there are so many destinations to choose from. There really is something for everyone, depending on what you want to get out of your vacation. So if a trip in the next couple of weeks sounds good to you, then here are some ideas of destinations.

Colorado

So Colorado might not be known as the sunbathing capital of the world. But it is a great skiing destination. A winter break doesn’t have to always be about the sunshine and sunbathing. You can still enjoy some pretty glorious weather in Colorado, and even get a suntan! You’ll just be skiing as you do so. With the likes of Breckenridge, Aspen, and Vail, there are several world class resorts to choose from. If you haven’t skied before then don’t worry; you can still go! Just look for somewhere like Vista Bahn Ski Rentals, and you can just hire all the equipment that you’ll need from there.

Los Angeles

While the east coast of the country is battling snowstorms, the sun is still shining on the west coast. It has a sunny climate pretty much all year round, so it is a good choice if you want some better weather. It isn’t super hot at this time of year, so it makes things like hikes or trails really doable. A great idea if you’ve got kids too, as there are beaches but also lots of other attractions to see and do. Don’t forget a trip to Santa Monica or some Rodeo Drive shopping; it has to be done!

Dubai

If you are looking for a destination that is a little farther flung, then Dubai is a great option. It has amazing temperatures all year round. But in winter is when they are more bearable. Going in the summer time can be insanely hot! There are stunning beaches and water parks, including the one at the stunning Atlantis Hotel. You could swim with dolphins, visit the world’s tallest building, dine at the world’s only seven-star hotel and soak up the Arabian culture.

Barbados

A little closer to home but still abroad, are the Caribbean islands. They are all great destinations for some winter sun. One great choice would be Barbados. There are beautiful white sand beaches with crystal clear sea water. You can enjoy watersports and snorkeling and swim with turtles. Then you could head to the capital of Bridgetown, to soak up the heritage and atmosphere and enjoy some amazing Caribbean food. The hotels in Barbados are usually all-inclusive which can be a massive plus. The only thing is that you might not see much of the rest of the island. You could get a great deal renting a local villa, though, if you think you’d prefer to do that to see more of the island.
