This post was sponsored by VIIcode and I received free product for review. As always, opinions are my own!

Aside from the skin woes I mentioned yesterday, I have been way better over the past few years about preventative care for my fair skin. SPF is a must, as well as a moisturizer. But I’ve been neglecting my eyes! That is until VIIcode reached out to me asking if I would like to try their oxygen eye cream. And now I’m wondering why I left my eyes alone for so long when I can get what feels like a spa treatment right at home, especially if you try to turn your beauty routine into a ritual, like I do!

Make sure to start with a clean face, then gently massage your under eye with the crescent activation strip. Honestly, I was tempted to skip this step, but whether this was psychosomatic or not, I really did feel like the cells under my eyes were coming alive! It’s sometimes good to follow instructions, no?

After the little message, just dab a tiny bit of the VIIcode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream (VII pronounced ‘vee two’) under your eyes. Oh my goodness it smelled and felt so good from first opening. The cream has no greasy feeling to it, but a nice thickness. It makes sense that it smells so good because of the key ingredients:

  • Elderberries: Antioxidant content maintains the skin cells, leaving you with glowing, younger skin
  • Jojoba Oil: Not only firms and keeps your skin hydrated, but also useful in lessening the appearance of skin wrinkles. Rich in antioxidants, which help regenerate the skin cells.
  • Evening Primrose: Boosts blood circulation, which is helpful to treat tired skin and eyes and is especially effective in removing wrinkles.

VIIcode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream c/o

Using this stuff is literally giving your skin the royal treatment. Apparently, Napoleon Bonaparte’s wife, Josephine, is said to have used this same luxurious formula, developed more than 250 years ago.

History lesson aside, I fully endorse this eye cream. While I’m not seeing a significant difference in dark circles per say, my very sensitive eyes love the stuff, and they feel brighter and tighter. I’m tempted to use it all over my face, but I want to treasure my little bottle of VIIcode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream and make it last.

Are you tired of leaving the house looking like you’re still tired from the night before? It can create the wrong impression completely when you’re trying to impress the people around you. However, it’s not something you need to get too down about because it is a problem that can be solved with the right approach.

Cacao + Rose Organic Face Mask

Make Use of Masks

Masks are fantastic at helping you to rejuvenate your skin completely. Masks give your skin the nutrients, and they’re then able to absorb it. Of course, you shouldn’t expect instant results. If you do, you will simply end up being disappointed. Face masks take time to work, and you have to keep using them regularly if you to see long-term improvements. In the end, you will notice that your skin looks more vibrant, and the skin around your eyes should particularly benefit.

PIN-UP GIRL: Bright red lipstick semi-matte full coverage highly pigment

Brighten Things Up

One way to hide the appearance of tiredness on your face is to start using makeup that allows you to brighten things up a little more. Bright colors show vibrancy, and they hide many of the imperfections you might be carrying with you. So, investing in a bright red lipstick could be exactly what you need in order to stop looking so down and dull when you start your day.

 Fruity perfume

Go Beyond Appearances

You need to go beyond your appearance if you want to stop giving off the appearance of tiredness. Instead, you need to think about some of the other things that help you seem on point and alert throughout the day. Learning the secrets that allow you to make perfume last is one good idea to consider. The way you smell can have a big impact on how people perceive you, so you don’t want that scent to descend into nothing throughout the day.

HONEY & HEMP organic face wash

Improve Your Face Wash

Something as simple as the type of face wash you use could have an impact on how your skin looks. If it looks tired, part of the reason for that could be the face wash you’re using. If you’re using a product that is harsh on your skin and not suited to the skin type you have, it will just cause you more problems than is necessary. Change your face wash until you find a solution that works. My current favorite is Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser. I swear my skin has NEVER been better.

Rose Hydrating Face Cream

Learn How to Fix Your Tired Eyes Before Leaving the House

Fixing tired eyes doesn’t have to be an impossible mission, and it can be done before you even leave the house. You just need to know which steps are the most important ones to take. The two things that matter most are hydrating cream and concealer. These will help to improve the health of the skin around your eyes, while also concealing any obvious problems.

How many of us find ourselves spending a fortune on beauty products? We can just spend and spend as there are always new products to try. But how about some natural ways to take care of our skin and appearance? There is no need to keep spending money on new products when there are things that you can do at home to beauty yourself and keep your beauty regime up. Here are just a few of them for you to try.

Banana Peel Teeth Whitening

Yes, you read that correctly. You can use banana peel to whiten your teeth. How low cost and easy is that, right? I know quite a few people that have tried it before and found that it really worked for them. All you need to do is brush your teeth as you normally would, with a natural toothpaste. You can use the banana peel first and then brush; it doesn’t make much of a difference. Take a piece from the inside of the banana peel (the white part) and gently rub around on your teeth for about 2 minutes. Rinse and repeat each day. If this doesn’t sound like your thing, then you could try some teeth whitening strips. This link gives a low-down on some of them ones on the market at the moment: www.TeethWhiteningAtHomeTips.com/best-teeth-whitening-strips. Just be sure to take a before and after picture if you’re going to try whitening your teeth. It won’t be instant, but after a couple of days, it will make a difference.

33oz Avocado Honey Hair Mask

Avocado Hair Masks

We all know the health benefits that avocados can bring to our bodies. They are full of healthy fats that our body needs to help repair and stay well. So why wouldn’t those work on our hair too? In fact, they do work on hair! So instead of spending a lot of money on conditioning hair treatments, try an avocado hair mask. So basically, after washing your hair, apply mashed avocado to your hair. It works well on the tips of your hair, as well as your scalp. So can help with split ends, as well as dandruff. There are some more about natural hair masks here https://www.diynatural.com/homemade-hair-masks/ if you’re interested to try some other ones too.

Oatmeal Face Mask

Oatmeal Face Masks

We all dream of clearer skin, don’t we? So why do we put chemicals and all sorts of lotions and potions on our skin? We could be using something much more natural like oats. If children get chickenpox, then it is recommended that they take a bath with oats in. So oats can help inflammation, as well as itchy or dry skin. So having oats as a base for a face mask is a great idea. The rest is up to you. You could try mashing a banana with the oats, as well as a small amount of milk. You could use oats and yogurt with a little honey that is great for its antibacterial effects. You can use egg whites too, as they can help to tighten skin. There are many options, so just look in your cupboard next time, instead of the store.

Everyone always tells us to act our age, but few ever say look your age! In fact, there is a lot of time and money plowed into the complete opposite. Getting your skin to look younger and healthier is a big deal for most women, with some going as far to go under the knife to achieve the result that they want. But if you not quite ready for such drastic action, what else can you do to defy the aging process and look a little below your actual age? Read on to find out.

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Women’s Deep Cleansing Exfoliating Face Wash

Get your basics right

So, before you go onto any of the more complicated treatments for your face, you need to make sure that you are getting the basics correct. A lot of women make mistakes here that can serious cause the skin on their face and neck to age.

For example, if you are scrubbing your face with an exfoliating, or exfoliating cream, it’s probably time to stop. While it feels s great to have a super clean face. The only people that really need to regularly use an exfoliating scrubs are ones that have particularly oily skin.

Otherwise, all you are doing is damaging the skin unnecessarily. It’s much better to use a gentle moisturizing face wash instead. Remember you do not want to dry out your skin at all.

Paula’s Choice Resist Hyaluronic Acid Booster

Some added daily help

Of course, getting a youthful glow is not all about how you wash your face, there are other things that you can do to promote healthy, taught skin as well.

For example, you may choose to use a night cream, which is a heavier moisturizer that is applied before you go to bed. This allows the cream the entire night to be absorbed, and do its work, giving you a more hydrating effect.

Hydration of the skin is vital for a youthful look, and night cream is not the only way to achieve this. In fact, there are some hyaluronic acid serums like the one from OZ Naturals, that are designed to refresh tired skin. They work because the hyaluronic acid is able to hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water. Which helps the skin to appear younger, plumed up and healthy.

Ahava ‘Time To Clear’ Purifying Mud Mask

Some occasional extra help

As well as including a little added daily help in your skincare routine it can be a wise idea to invest in your face by doing a few spa treatments now and again. Not only as this luxurious and relaxing but you can choose ones that are particularly good for your face like a mud facial.

Spa Sonic PRO Skin Care System

Don’t forget to take your makeup off

Lastly, one of the most damaging things we can do in your skincare routine is to leave your makeup on overnight. Not only is it unhygienic, because all the dirt from they day is being pressed right against your face. But the skin can’t breathe or rehydrate either. So it is vital that it comes off every time.

To do this make sure that you steer clear of normal soap and water. As the PH of the soap is usually too drying to be used on your face every day. Instead use a rotating brush or a gentle cleanser to get the desired result.

ban.do Work It Out Water Bottle

Keep Hydrated

First of all, make sure that you’re drinking enough water. Not only is this great for your whole body, but it will also help to improve blood circulation to the skin, thereby preventing wrinkles! During the summer it’s a lot easier to remember to drink it, so make a mental note to do so throughout the day during the colder months. Make sure that you’re using a hydrating moisturizer instead of a gel one, which may be perfect for the summer but won’t be quite intense enough to make your skin feel good through winter. Before bed, use a night cream and eye cream so you’ll wake up feeling fresh and happy. If you think your skin looks really tired, check out ideas from KitagawaDermatology.com/botox/.

Kiehl’s  Facial Fuel UV Guard SPF 50

Protect Your Skin

Obviously you wear sunscreen all summer, right? You better wear it all summer, anyway! It’s important that you protect yourself carefully from those damaging ultraviolet rays that can make your skin dry and lacking in brightness. But during the winter, a lot of people assume that they no longer need sunscreen – but this is absolutely not the case. The winter sun is just as damaging as the summer sun, so it’s important that you apply a layer of sunscreen before you put on your makeup, or that you use foundation or moisturizer with a high SPF. During the winter you should also make sure that you cover up your skin to protect it from the horrible weather – pull a hat over your forehead and make sure that you wear gloves to protect the delicate skin on the back of your hands from cracking and bleeding.

Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight

Use Makeup Cleverly

Makeup is one of the best ways for you to make sure that your skin is flawless all year round. First of all, make sure that you’ve moisturized – then use a primer intended for dewy skin, making sure that you rub it into your pores to give your skin an even, smooth finish. This will help you to apply your foundation perfectly. Go for a beauty blender or a makeup sponge to help blend it into your hairline and over your nose, particularly if you’re using a high coverage foundation. You should also make sure that you’re using the right shade of foundation for the time of year – you might need a lighter one than you do in the summer. Use a lighter concealer under your eyes and down the bridge of your nose and up into the center of your forehead, and blend with your beauty blender. Highlighting and strobing is one of the biggest trends lately. In order to do it right, consider which parts of your face the light is likely to hit, and add highlighter there. Your brow bone, the top of your cheekbone, the tip of your nose and the bow of your lips are all safe bets. If you want a more summery glow, go for a highlighter with gold in it, or maybe iridescent white and violet if you’re looking to be more of a winter ice queen.
