Everyone wants a magical, perfect wedding, but if you’re really honest with yourself, you also want your wedding to stand out. No one likes to admit that they want their wedding to be better than the one that they attended a few months ago, but it’s the truth, and it’s fairly understandable. Your wedding should be as unique as you are, so if you want yours to stand out, then have a read of the out-of-the-box ideas listed below.

Avoid White

When you think of a wedding, the first thing that usually comes to mind is the white wedding dress. However, considering that white symbolizes innocence and purity, it might not necessarily apply to your relationship. If you want to stand out from the crowd, then skip the white wedding dress, and go for one of the many other colours available. You could even dress your bridesmaids in white, so you’ll really contrast.

Fab Favors

Your favors are supposed to be your way of thanking your loved ones for attending your wedding. Youwant to be unique, so you can do something completely different. There are so many better ideas for favors, such as toys for the little ones, personalized bars or chocolate, wedding favours magnets, or even sunscreen if you’re having an outdoor wedding.

Guest Transportation

If your ceremony is a while away from your reception, then you’ll likely be transporting your guests between the venues. If this is the case, then why not make the journey fun and unique by choosing some really out-there transport. Black cabs, red double decker-buses, yellow school buses, or even hot air balloons are all options that you could consider and are all way more interesting than a boring wedding car or limousine.

Rent A Video Booth

Back in the day, photo booths were sure to give your wedding an air of uniqueness and were a really fun thing for your wedding guests to do. These days, they’re still fun, but they’re also incredibly common. Video booths, on the other hand, are a relatively new idea, and the fun clips that you get from them can be inserted into your wedding video and watched for years to come.

Take Dance Lessons

Most weddings involve the bride and groom having their first dance before anyone else is allowed on the dance floor. This is a lovely idea, and looks great on your wedding video, but isn’t very unique, especially if all you and your partner are doing is the waltz or even just swaying side to side. Instead of this, take some dance lessons, and kick it up a notch with a surprising routine. Anything out of the ordinary, like a street dance routine or a tango, is sure to get your wedding remembered.

Your wedding is the day that joins you and your partner together for the rest of your lives, so it’s important to make it special and unique. Hopefully, the tips above will give you some inspiration for your wedding.

We all know that getting married is a huge deal. Obviously, the biggest part of the whole thing is the commitment you make to your significant other when you say your vows. But much of the excitement based on getting married focuses on the wedding day itself, and all the theatrics that come with it. If you are a naturally shy and reserved person, the idea of this alone can be a little intimidating (especially as the bride). Having all eyes on you can be very intense, and having a whole day that circulates just you and your partner can be a little overwhelming. Some people, of course, revel in this. But others see their wedding day as a much more communal event and as a chance to spend time with friends and family just as much as it is to make a big deal about your relationship. Here are some of the ways you can turn the spotlight on your loved ones as well as you and your partner on your big day.

Favors

We all receive wedding gifts from our guests as a notion of goodwill for our marriage. But showing your appreciation for your close friends and family is something a lot of couples also like to do, even on a day that is traditionally about just them. This idea has turned into the concept of wedding bonbonnieres – little presents for your guests to thank them for their support. They don’t need to be anything fancy or super expensive. After all, a wedding is pricey enough as it is! But your guests will surely appreciate something small as it shows you are still thinking about them.

A wedding hashtag

It’s impossible to be in two places at once or to have eyes in the back of your head on your wedding day. The harsh reality is that you will probably be rushed off your feet, and at the end of the day it might feel as though you didn’t get chance to socialize half as much as you thought you would. This is where a wedding hashtag comes in useful. Encourage your guests to upload their pictures of the wedding day to social media with a hashtag – such as ‘SmithJohnsonWedding2017’ or something similar. Then, you can simply search the hashtag afterwards to see a whole side of your wedding day that you may have missed.

Old photos

The reception is somewhere you can enjoy mingling with friends old and new – catching up and reminiscing about old times. There isn’t really a better way to facilitate that than by getting out some old photos from days gone by and laughing at all your hilarious old outfits and hairdos. Scatter the tables at the wedding breakfast with some of these pictures and let people browse them at their leisure. You could also do a slideshow on a projected screen looking at yours and your partner’s lives before you met. This is a great way to look back on some fond memories and pay tribute to the people who have been by your side for all these years.
