I’ve been kind of mushing about Valentine’s Day for a couple of weeks now, and I’m so thrilled that January is finally over and February is here. This month, it’s Kendall’s birthday, Valentine’s Day, my shower/ bachelorette party, and my dad’s birthday. And no leap-year this year (I just checked) so February is going to fly. Clearly, I had to do a pink on pink on pink theme for this month’s wish list!

  1. One of my favorite perfumes now comes in PINK. Didn’t think the bottle could be any cuter than the original but here’s MOSCHINO Moschino Pink Fresh Couture.
  2. My bridesmaids poo-pooed the kate spade new york Lotus Slip-On Sneaker as a wedding shoe, but they all agreed that the classic car nod to my granddaddy would be cute for the rehearsal dinner or after party.
  3. I just got a new phone. (RIP 6s) Maybe a cute new Portable Charger to go with it?
  4. The reviews for Too Faced Glow Job Radiance-Boosting Glitter Face Mask aren’t stellar, but between the cheeky name and the fact there’s glitter in it I think it would be fun to try. I’m also very into (probably because of the packaging) their:
  5. Diamond Light Multi-Use Diamond Fire Highlighter and
  6. Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush
  7. Rox got a Baby G watch in a review box and I was reminded how the cool girl freshman year of high school had one. Especially loving the BABY-G G-Shock ‘Ana-Digi’ Resin Watch.
  8. Totally typical Caro. Halogen + ruffles- Halogen Velvet Ruffle Top.
  9. Honestly I’d never given Ted Baker bags much of a though until I snagged the perfect black tote from the Nordstrom sale a couple years ago but their bags are stunning! Super into this extra af Icon Faux-Pearl and Crystal Large Tote.
  10. The Sadie sunnies in pink on pink have be discontinued so they’re under $10!
  11. Let’s honest, this Free People Bell Sleeve Swing Dress is going to be a hit or miss. I’m def going to order to try it on though!
  12. Between Etsy, Picmonkey, and Zazzle, I have DIYed quite a bit for my wedding. This includes stationary of all kind and t-shirts for my bachelorette party/ getting ready on the big day. This Mrs. Price Sweatshirt is my most recent creation and I feel like even though it is somehow extra and basic, I kind of need it.

What’s on your February wish list?

I’ve honestly just come to the conclusion that a I just need to try everything on. What looks good on one blogger person may not good on another. Pencil skirts are out for me, honestly, but MAN I can rock a skater skirt like nobody’s business. I tried a ruffle t-shirt dress I saw on another blogger that did absolutely nothing for me. That’s ok too. That’s what returns are for.

Does it not seem like all at freakin’ once ruffles have taken over, in a totally not-stuffy kind of way? I love it, but I have to be kind of careful with styling on my busty, curvy self. Last year, there was a J. Crew top that looked adorable on a lot of people. It was plaid with a ruffle kind of along the bust line. Real talk, it made my head look small and my chest look ginormous. I felt like a circus bear. But I tried two solid Halogen tops from Nordstrom that I absolutely love- here and here. The best thing is that they’re essentially sweatshirts but because of the ruffles, they’re ~FaNcY~. As I write this post, I’m wearing on with a statement necklace and jeans for an easy, fun, casual Friday look. How do you feel about the ruffles? I feel like they won’t be a trend for good, but they’re fun while they’re here!

Let me just preface this post with the fact I was entirely spoiled this (and every) Christmas, and I truly felt like I was wrapped up in a blanket of love. That might sound entirely cheesy but it’s true! Yes, I post these wishlists monthly, but in no way to I expect or want everything I post- it’s just a collection of things that have caught my eye.

After spending a lovely Christmas weekend with my parents, complete with the sushi and a movie tradition I started with them a few years ago, we ended the year with a nice dinner in Old Town Alexandria then headed home early. It was so freezing that fireworks were out of the question. Kendall is actually going to be gone for a couple weeks for work, coming home to meet with our wedding church, do our tasting for our wedding menu, then leaving again for army stuff. I’ll be spending a little extra time with mama and daddy D- I just want to be warm and cozy with the people I love this time of year.

  1. Could I be anymore predictable? The Asymmetrical Ruffle Cold Shoulder Top comes in a bunch of colors and is on sale!
  2. Maybe it’s because I’m freezing and dreaming of going somewhere sunny, like Florida, but the Orange Print Green Sweatshirt just looks so… pleasant to me.
  3. Same with the  Pretty Rebellious Juniors’ Peachy Graphic Ruffled Top. It’s totally random but I adore something about the graphic/ ruffle combo.
  4. The thing I like most about the Midnight Blue Five-Row Necklace is that it reminds me of the jewelry that belonged to my great grandmother that I got to play with growing up.
  5. I’m all about spoiling my lips in the winter and the Balm Baby Trio WINKY LUX looks like the thing to do just that. The Winky Lux signature Flower Balm contains a real flower and featuring pH-shade match technology for long-lasting stain. The unicorn-inspired Glimmer Balm creates a subtle iridescent shimmer for magic that lasts all day, and the limited-edition gold balm in 24kt has a hint of twinkling gold.
  6. The Rivington Convertible Flap Petrol Backpack is the backpack I won’t shut up about. It keeps going deeper on sale but is still totally out of my price range.
  7. I was so excited when the white ones came (back) out last year but of course I’m diggin’ the pink Freestyle Nubuck High Top Sneakers.
  8. If I can find my Nordstrom card before it sells out, I’m getting the Alfred Sung Woven Fit & Flare Dress for my wedding rehearsal.
  9. I just want to be warm. Enter this Bp Leopard Print Ruana.

The older I get, the less I need and the less I want to ask for things for Christmas. Kendall had to put me on the spot to get me to tell him.  The funny this is that with my blog, I’m constantly scouring the internetz for pretty things to show you. Kendall asked me about my gifts under $25 post last week- “is this stuff you want?”

This funny thing is, yea, I want basically everything I post on my blog. But I know that there’s a difference between want and I need. I’m, once again, trying to control my spending so I really haven’t bought new clothes or shoes or bags recently. But I do enjoy doing these little wish lists and since I’ve been asked by more than one person for my Christmas list, here it is.

Let’s be clear though, my real Christmas wish is that everyone I love be happy, healthy, and safe in their holiday travels, especially my Kendall. We will not be together for Christmas day this year and I know I’ll miss him terribly. It’ll be OK though, we have forever to make up for it.

A few days late but here I am. This past weekend was so amazing and I always feel inspired when I get home from the Jersey Shore. The weather was unusually perfect- no flooding or high winds- so we really enjoyed Chowderfest to the fullest. While we didn’t actually do as much shopping damage as usual (not enough room in the car, tbh) I really had fun checking out the style of the beach this year.

If you’ve never been to the Jersey Shore, chances are that idiot show from nearly a decade ago has warped your opinion. Pro tip: none of those people actually lived down the shore. I was actually really taken aback this year with how stunning the LBI locals were: sun kissed, athletic, effortlessly gorgeous. As for the clothes on the island, a lot of what I gravitate towards: distressed, oversized, comfy without compromising style. A bit of beach bum meets boho and I loved it. Grab me something soft and add a ruffle, bow, or embellishment and I’m there!

Speaking of which… this Cotton Emporium Ruffle Hem Knit T-Shirt Dress is everything. I would stick it with booties and a leather jacket (as I would with pretty much anything this time of year.)

I read a lot of blogs from the UK and I’m usually sad that I can’t purchase their recommendations but I found AC Clean Up Mild BB Cushion on Amazon and I’m thrilled! Not only does it have an SPF 50 (50!!) but there’s tea tree oil in it. Totally worth a try and for under $20, if I don’t love it it’s no harm no foul!

I’ve been checking out vampy lip colors for the season. Currently crushing on MAC Nude Lipstick in Antique Velvet.

This Halogen Ruffle Cold Shoulder Sweatshirt combines three of my favorite things: grey, cold shoulder, ruffle.

I absolutely love my cape this time of year. Throw it on on the way to work, snuggle in it if I get to cold in the office, throw it in my bag on my way home when it’s too hot. The colors in this Pashmina Wrap has the perfect colors for the season too!

Apparently statement necklaces are kind of on their way out? I refuse to a) believe it b) give mine up. This behemoth is the kind of thing I’d throw on with a simple work outfit to jazz it up.

File this under “things I absolutely don’t need” but how cute is this Llama Coin Purse? Fun fact: I wanted a llama so bad when I was younger. My Gramma Dee actually got me a charm bracelet one year that said “llama” on it.

This is silly but I took a quiz to see what kind of crystal resonates with me. I shouldn’t be surprised- it’s rainbow quartz. I love the raw look of these Nakibirango London Titanium Aura Astral Earrings.

What are you loving and craving this October?
