I have this thing with leopard. Pretty sure that mostly comes from not being allowed to wear it as a little kid. Mathy has come around and even rocks it herself occasionally, but to me its essentially a neutral for dressing up or down or sideways or whatever. My one rule is one leopard piece per outfit.

This rule is allowed to be broken if you’re a fabulous little old lady at church in which case pile it on and I cannot wait to be you one day. This is not something I’m making up. There’s a couple of women at St. John’s Lafayette who dress all the way up for church. I’m talking head to toe leopard with matching hat and gloves. And then they sneak out after communion and I like to imagine they go have a boozy brunch and flirt with cute waiters… but I digress.

Today I’m bringing you the ultimate extra skirt, styled two ways. I like to think of the first as “brunch” and the second as “New Year’s Eve” but to be honest you could call them “girls’ night” and “date night” or any title you want. Basically, one is more casual and the other more dressed up.

And I’m thinking about this skirt for my semi-Lisa Frank themed bachelorette part in February. Either that or a neon tutu- thoughts?

A few days late but here I am. This past weekend was so amazing and I always feel inspired when I get home from the Jersey Shore. The weather was unusually perfect- no flooding or high winds- so we really enjoyed Chowderfest to the fullest. While we didn’t actually do as much shopping damage as usual (not enough room in the car, tbh) I really had fun checking out the style of the beach this year.

If you’ve never been to the Jersey Shore, chances are that idiot show from nearly a decade ago has warped your opinion. Pro tip: none of those people actually lived down the shore. I was actually really taken aback this year with how stunning the LBI locals were: sun kissed, athletic, effortlessly gorgeous. As for the clothes on the island, a lot of what I gravitate towards: distressed, oversized, comfy without compromising style. A bit of beach bum meets boho and I loved it. Grab me something soft and add a ruffle, bow, or embellishment and I’m there!

Speaking of which… this Cotton Emporium Ruffle Hem Knit T-Shirt Dress is everything. I would stick it with booties and a leather jacket (as I would with pretty much anything this time of year.)

I read a lot of blogs from the UK and I’m usually sad that I can’t purchase their recommendations but I found AC Clean Up Mild BB Cushion on Amazon and I’m thrilled! Not only does it have an SPF 50 (50!!) but there’s tea tree oil in it. Totally worth a try and for under $20, if I don’t love it it’s no harm no foul!

I’ve been checking out vampy lip colors for the season. Currently crushing on MAC Nude Lipstick in Antique Velvet.

This Halogen Ruffle Cold Shoulder Sweatshirt combines three of my favorite things: grey, cold shoulder, ruffle.

I absolutely love my cape this time of year. Throw it on on the way to work, snuggle in it if I get to cold in the office, throw it in my bag on my way home when it’s too hot. The colors in this Pashmina Wrap has the perfect colors for the season too!

Apparently statement necklaces are kind of on their way out? I refuse to a) believe it b) give mine up. This behemoth is the kind of thing I’d throw on with a simple work outfit to jazz it up.

File this under “things I absolutely don’t need” but how cute is this Llama Coin Purse? Fun fact: I wanted a llama so bad when I was younger. My Gramma Dee actually got me a charm bracelet one year that said “llama” on it.

This is silly but I took a quiz to see what kind of crystal resonates with me. I shouldn’t be surprised- it’s rainbow quartz. I love the raw look of these Nakibirango London Titanium Aura Astral Earrings.

What are you loving and craving this October?

Target is bae and has been bae since my mom and sister came home from a weekend shopping trip like 15 year ago with wild stories of a store with an escalator just for carts. When I was in college, my mom gave me a Target card because they had everything I could need and they were also far superior to Walmart. Cheese? They got it. Sundress? Check! Storage ottoman? YOU BETCHA! And now you can add discount BaubleBar to the mix with SUGARFIX, the sweetest jewelry collab, only at Target.

I checked out SUGARFIX the last time I was in a Target and was overall very pleased with the quality. The chunky statement necklaces were a little lighter than the original BaubleBar brand, but I can’t even say that’s a bad thing. The price is nice- think about half of what you’d expect to spend with BaubleBar- and a lot of it is on clearance PLUS 20% off clearance with the code SAVE20. ALSO- you can earn cashback shopping SUGARFIX by BaubleBar with ebates!

If you’re friends with me or follow me on any of my social media, you may have gotten an invite to my Stella & Dot online style session. If not, feel free to invite yourself now! I’m hosting it along with my friend and Stella & Dot stylist, Erica. There’s nothing you have to do and nowhere you need to go- just style inspiration and some of the cutest accessories you’ve ever seen! I’m a huge Stella & Dot fan and have been for years. My of my favorite pieces are from there!

I’ve actually considered becoming a stylist myself and talked about the perks of becoming a Stella & Dot stylist a while back on my blog. While I still don’t feel like I have the time to devote to being a great stylist, I can borrow Erica and pretend I’m a stylist during my virtual trunk show. And that doesn’t mean I don’t like to look for myself.

I want to share some of my all-time favorite pieces to get you in the mood to shop my Stella & Dot online style session! I have the pieces in the top row on heavy rotation. The bottom row is my wish list!

I think the hardest part about dressing in the summer is like… what exactly do I wear to work? My off-duty look is my Jacks with an easy dress that may or may not be too short for the office, but during the week I find myself grabbing one of the same 5 law-firm appropriate frocks I have hanging in my closet. I am pretty lucky that my firm is lax about the dress code so I can get away with a lot- like this dress probably wouldn’t fly for a lot of office jobs- but I’m just finding myself a little bored with my work clothes. That fresh blue made me feel awesome, so I’m thinking of incorporating more colors into my summer work wardrobe.

This might come from my general antsy-ness and discontent in the summertime, but regardless, I’m looking for inspiration for my closet. In the interest of being universally appealing, I’m sticking to rules of work wear that I don’t usually follow myself- close-toed shoes, no sleeveless blouses.

Keep in mind, this is for work wear and not necessarily interview wear. I stumbled across an old District Sparkle post, and I think her rules for interview attire ring pretty true!
