I could not be more thrilled that Stella & Dot, my favorite jewelry retailer, now offers adorable tops. The tops are mostly solid, offering a blank canvas to doll up with their jewelry and other accessories. Although I’m not really a Stella & Dot stylist (I haven’t made it a business~ you can check out my post on that here), I fancy myself a bit of a freelance stylist anyway with my blog, and wanted to show some of the Stella & Dot combos I love..

The best thing about the new Stella & Dot tops is that they’re mostly work appropriate for business casual. Since it’s a brand I already love and have been wearing for years, I can’t wait to try out the clothing!

My personal style leans towards a solid top with a really funky necklace. I’ve created two different all Stella & Dot looks with that style in mind.

I have been designing tee shirts since I was a kid. I’m 99% sure a certain toy company actually jacked my designs that I sent them when I was in 3rd grade. I have a few shirts I made with Custom Tee Couture, but they’re a little expensive. In college, I basically elected myself as t shirt chair of my sorority and even designed the Greek Week shirts one year. There are just a couple that I did while in college:

I’ve toyed with the idea of starting my own t shirt company, but that requires an investment that I just do not have at the moment. Enter one of the coolest concepts I’ve seen with Bonfire. You can check out how the whole thing works on their website, but basically I (and you! and whoever!) can come up with a design, pick a price point, and not have to worry about a thing else but getting paid and seeing the design come to life! The one small catch is that 5 shirts have to be paid for for them to be printed. If you don’t sell 5 or more shirts in the allotted time of the campaign, everyone who purchased the shirt gets their money back. No harm, no foul.

As a designer, you don’t have to worry about inventory, shipping, or anything! Just coming up with an idea that will sell. And with that, I bring you my first campaign! If Things + Tacos sells, I’ll probably keep designing and sharing and selling. If not, this was a fun experiment and I’ll take it as a learning experience!

Annnd just like that it was June. Seriously, this year is going by so quickly. This month, my mom finishes out her final school year, Kendall comes home from training, and we get our engagement photos taken. It’s also Father’s Day and I’m going with my two local bridesmaids to pick out their dresses in person. Like I said on Saturday’s post, I’m not shopping this month. But a girl can still look!

the carolove june wish list

  1. I really will end up with this 3/4 Sleeve Tiered Gingham Tent Dress.
  2. Ditto the Checkered Ruffle Sleeve Keyhole Tie Back Smock Dress. For someone who used to hate gingham I love it now!
  3. I seriously love all things Tees And Tank You, but their Covfefe Shirt is cracking me up. I usually don’t try to get too political, but I think this lighthearted design kind of let’s me prove the point that I want to make.
  4. Never one to shy away from a great novelty bag, I’m obsessing over this Milk Box Cross-body Bag…
  5. … and this Tape Shaped Shoulder Bag. Note that both are under $30 because I’m over buying tiny bags for crazy prices. Looking at you Kate Spade!
  6. I know what I just said… but I can’t get over this Kitsch Strawberry Candy Crossbody.
  7. Like, I’m sure, many of you, my first perfume was Love’s Baby Soft Cologne Mist. With my allergies acting a mess, I’m thinking about going for this like scent for the summer!
  8. It’s great that at first glance these Betsey Johnson Boom Sneakers are just plan white sneakers then PEEK-A-BOO!
  9. Wishing I could apply for the job on this Women’s Wildfox Part Time Destructed Tee on LinkedIn.
  10. It’s official- mason jars are out and Light Bulb Novelty Drinking Glasses are in!
  11. I guess I kind of missed the sheet mask craze because the new guy in town is the Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask! This one I have to try.
  12. There’s this one Juicy dress I’ve had since college that I’m about worn into the ground. It’s still in great shape and somehow fits, but I love this Daisy Tile Ruffle Sleeve Dress as an alternative!

I have  decided that I’m going to try something new- one month where I’m allowed to shop then one month where I’m not. I’m going to attempt that for about a year, and after kind of enjoying my Lent of no shopping I think I can do it. I haven’t decided yet if wedding stuff counts, but it certainly does mean that I can’t just clickclickclick whatever I want into my cart, you know?

Annnnyway– June is officially OFF, but I wanted to gather some of the fun things I’ve been eyeing on SheIn.

I discovered SheIn a couple of years ago, and honestly there have been a few huge hits… and some abysmal misses. While I immediately donated a couple things, one of my favorite work dresses. for example, came from the international fast fashion powerhouse.  What I’ve learned about fast fashion is this: be more critical that you even think you need to be. Read the reviews. Scrutinize the size charts. Know that the quality probably won’t be the best.

But for the prices- sure! Go ahead and try that trend. Rock that dupe. Getcha self a little something for that vacation (but just make sure you give yourself enough time for that order to come in.)

Some posts featuring SheIn pieces that I love:
