They say beauty is only skin deep, but to be beautiful on the surface, you really have to take care of your body from within. Any issues inside the body are reflected on the outside when it comes to things like our skin, hair, eyes, and teeth, and so it’s important to realize the link between health and beauty. Plus when you feel great, it gives you confidence, and you will most likely show it on the outside too.

Eat Well and Nourish From Within

To maintain your beauty on the outside, you absolutely have to nourish from within. When your body has all of the vitamins and minerals it needs to thrive, you will notice better skin, hair, and nails as well as improved mood. And a smile makes anyone look more beautiful! Focus your diet on healthy, fresh produce: lots of fruits and vegetables will provide you with a huge boost of nutrients. Lean protein and dairy, whole grains and legumes are all important additions. If you’re meat or dairy free, it can be worth tracking the foods you eat using a food tracker to ensure you’re getting enough of everything you need from other sources. Cut back on saturated fats, salt and sugar and drink plenty of water. Your body will thank you for it, everything will function better, you will feel and look better.

Quit Your Dangerous Vices

Smoking, illicit drugs, drinking too much alcohol, lying out in the sun or using sunbeds- these are all things that will damage your health as well as your looks. All of these things will dry the skin, leaving it prone to premature aging giving you lines and wrinkles far earlier in life. On top of this, you put yourself at risk for dangerous health conditions such as cancers. Make a conscious effort to quit your vices, if you’re addicted there’s help and advice out there which can make the process easier and give you support. You’ll feel far better for it and could add years onto your life. Many of us do irresponsible things when we’re younger, we drink until we pass out, smoke too much and generally don’t think carefully about the decisions we make when it comes to our body. But as you get older and are more aware of the risks, it makes no sense to keep killing yourself with these things. Replace these with productive and healthy habits and hobbies. Classes at the gym, healthy brunches with friends, hikes with the dog- whatever it is you enjoy.

Exercise and Work on Your Physique

Exercise benefits just about every cell in your body. It improves your cardiovascular system meaning your heart can pump blood around your body more efficiently, and you can move around without getting out of breath. Exercise helps to keep the arteries free of plaque reducing stroke and heart disease strengthens muscles and bones and helps to get rid of toxins through sweat. Because exercise increases blood flow, it helps to oxygenate the skin keeping it elastic and youthful looking. Plus it can use up excess calories helping you to maintain a healthy and attractive physique. Work on including cardio, resistance and stretching exercises in your routine, you will feel fantastic and reap the rewards of a more beautiful appearance too.

Hair Serum

Take Care of Your Hair

Your hair is your crowning glory and is something that can massively change the look of your appearance. There’s a reason bad hair days really are bad when you’re not confident in the way your hair looks it can take a hit of your self-esteem! Stopping with the bleaches and dyes which are full of chemicals will allow your hair to recover, as will stopping over processing it with heat. The trick is to work with your natural hair texture, come up with styles which protect your hair and look great without having to use damaging heat to achieve. Other ways you can maintain healthy hair is to eat foods that are good sources of biotin, protein and folic acid since these are needed to produce and grow healthy locks. Almonds, salmon, lentils, avocados, spinach and greek yogurt are all good choices. If you eat a healthy diet in general, you should get all of the vitamins and minerals you need, but it won’t hurt to incorporate a few additional ingredients which you know are good for hair growth. You can use natural oils on your hair such as olive, coconut and argan oil which will lock in moisture and help keep your locks shiny and beautiful. If you have fine hair, apply oil as a pre-wash treatment. Otherwise you could be able to get away with running some through the ends and leaving it in between washes to nourish and protect.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals

We buy products to clean and protect our skin in the hopes of making it better, but actually, some products can make it worse. Certain scrubs, toners, face washes and other treatments can be drying or damaging to the skin. Unless you have a skin condition and need special skin products prescribed by the doctor, your best bet is to keep it as gentle as possible. Use products that are organic, and proven to be gentle. You can even make a variety of skin products yourself using all natural ingredients. Face masks containing things like bananas, avocados, oats, and eggs for example provide wonderful benefits to the skin. Sites like The Nourished Life have recipes for salt body scrubs, which are a gentle and effective way to remove dead skin. Your skin is the body’s largest organ and can absorb all kinds of chemicals and toxins from the products we use. So keeping them as natural as possible is good from both a health and a beauty perspective. The same applies to makeup, a touch of foundation to even out the skin, some mascara to lengthen the lashes and a swipe of lipstick can make all the difference and boost your confidence. But where possible, choose brands which don’t use harmful chemicals. Mineral foundation for example is all natural so free of toxins and especially great for anyone with sensitive or acne-prone skin.

Look After Your Pearly Whites

What is considered beautiful can often change with time and place? For example, in some cultures very thin women are considered attractive whereas, in others, larger or curvier are considered the ideal. The perfect size, shape, skin color and different features are dependent on time and place. However, there’s one feature that’s consistently considered attractive, and that’s nice teeth. Maintaining a good oral hygiene routine will keep your mouth healthy, but if there are things you want to change cosmetic dentistry can do wonders these days. Whether your teeth are crooked, discolored, even if you have missing teeth (like me!) your dentist will be able to put these things right. No joke- my dentist is invited to my wedding. Eating a healthy diet and being careful of things like sugars, fizzy drinks, fruit juices and acids in foods such as citrus fruits can help you to maintain a beautiful smile. Be wary of things like coffee, tea and red wine which can stain the teeth.

Be Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed

As they say, eyes are the windows to the soul- they’re also a good indication of what’s going on inside the body. When you’re exhausted, your eyes will look puffy, and you will develop dark circles. Liver problems can show in the eyes by causing yellowing, cloudy eyes can indicate diabetes. Having a fully functioning body that is well nourished, with any health conditions being kept under control will mean your eyes stay clear and beautiful. Visit the optician twice a year to check that everything is in order, and generally take care of your body. If you do notice issues with the eyes, they could reflect a deeper underlying problem so have this checked out. Cold tea bags or slices of cucumber placed on the eyes can help bring down puffiness, or you could buy special soaked eye masks. Rose water is another natural solution which helps to rejuvenate the skin.

Focus on the health of your body and your beauty will follow. Not only will you look your best, but you will feel strong, fit and confident too. When your body is working to it’s maximum potential you can reap the rewards of a more beautiful appearance too.

What steps do you take to maintain both your health and your beauty?

There has definitely been a rise in people showing an interest in the health of their skin over the past couple of years. With so many products on offer, it can be hard to know exactly where to start with it all. It’s not an overwhelming process unless you make it so; the most important thing that you need to consider is staying on top of your routine to be able to see a difference in your skin, as well as possibly changing parts of your lifestyle to give yourself the best start.

All Natural Foaming Face Wash

Drink More Water

Good skin starts with good hydration. Before you start with any other products, pick up the most natural product of all and start drinking more water. You should aim for at least eight glasses per day, if not a few more. This isn’t just good for your skin, but your body on the whole – and especially your brain. You’ll be increasing your focus and concentration, meaning that you’ll be able to think more clearly about what you are doing in regards to your skincare routine. Not only that, but you’ll begin to notice the difference in your skin within a couple of days; blemishes tend to clear up a lot more quickly when they’ve got water to work with.

Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize

As long as you get down the basics, you can build on from there. The Big 3 to have is a cleanser, a toner and a moisturizer. It’s a good idea to follow a guide to skin care if you aren’t sure about how much to use and where to use it. There are companies that offer what you need in bundles in order to get you the basics without having to shop around for it, but it doesn’t mean that you necessarily have to stick with the same line of products. You may find that mixing and matching suits your skin better; we all have different skin types, and while one brand may be great for your best friend, it could bring you out in a rash or leave your skin feeling more dry or oily than usual. Don’t be afraid to have a play around with what you think may suit, and if you don’t get on with a product, don’t give up on skincare all together – there will be something out there for you.

Look For Incorporated Products

Makeup brands are becoming wise as to the benefits that people are looking for when they choose their beauty products. Some foundations and facial creams have started adding in sunray filters, with UVA and UVB deflectors being present within to protect your skin. Look for the brands which have teamed up with skincare companies to bring you the best of both worlds  – it’s not too much to ask that something that you wear every day is looking after your skin rather than making it worse. It’s getting straight to the point and could be saving you quite a bit of time during your daily routine.

Thinking of beauty and makeup routines can fill many with dread. Women are either trying to battle the fight against aging or how to figure out simple makeup tips and the right foundation shade. A basic beauty routine should not come with a big manual and list of instructions.Take simple small steps to little routines and you’ve already won half the battle.

Ultimate Beauty Bundle

There is plenty of skin care products out there, in fact, the skin industry is booming with more women wanting to take care of their skin. The most important step is to keep it simple, three steps that are needed is a face wash, toner and serum/moisturizer. Try not to overload your beauty cabinet with lots of tried and tested products. Identify the specifics of your skin type once this has been achieved successfully you’ll save yourself shopping around and save money in the process.Sticking to a routine before bed, you’ll reap the benefits and this sets up a smooth and gorgeous skin base when applying foundation.

Once you’ve conquered the skincare aspect all you need is the perfect foundation shade. If you’ve managed to already successfully find your shade then be thankful, most women still do not know how to get the right shade. Plenty of beauty counters, and stores like Sephora, can help match up your skin with their in store testers which can match instantly. Whatever you do, do not test on the back of your hand this is an old myth that the skin matches your skin. If you want to match skin yourself place the tester on the chin line. This method will be the closest way to match without professional help.

You may have self-confidence issues which can hinder your ability to conquering a successful beauty routine. Sometimes the only way to restoring radiance wellness and beauty is to be pampered by the professionals. A wide range of treatments are available to make you feel relaxed with minimal effort. Chemical peels, are great to gaining confidence back if you’ve suffered at all with bad acne scars. Not only offering treatment but guidance and support to keeping your skin looking the best it can. Treat yourself by visiting and take a step in the right direction.

It’s not just about looking beautiful but feeling good too. Leading a happy and healthy lifestyle is the key to sustaining a beauty routine. Confidence is one of the best things to have that isn’t in your makeup bag. You can have all the expensive makeup you like, but if you lack the confidence to believe how naturally beautiful you are you won’t look or feel radiant.

This may be obvious but by drinking and eating the correct things your skin will thank you for it. Drinking water is the best beauty tip to providing healthy skin, keeping you hydrated and clearing out toxins. All the moisturizers and skin care products merely enhance the skin to achieving a healthy glow and preventing ageing. These steps along with a healthy and positive attitude to loving yourself really does help to being the best you possible.

A lot of people will focus intensely on the diet side of getting healthy. Yes, eating healthy is important, but there’s another side of it that we don’t explore as much. We’re talking about what you drink. They don’t feel substantial so they feel like they have no effect, but the truth is that there’s plenty of good, bad, and otherwise that what you drink can do to your body.

Free to Sparkle Tumbler

The essential

Let’s start by saying what everyone already knows. We need to get more water. How much water exactly you should drink is an individual amount, but it’s around 104 ounces for men (or 13 cups) and 72 ounces (9 cups) for women. But drinking water isn’t the only way to get the benefits of water, either. It’s important in skincare, too. If your dehydration is showing through dry, wrinkling skin, or even chronic skin conditions, then make sure you’re only using skincare products with hydrating properties and mild, non-foaming cleansers that won’t dry out your skin.

The good

There are plenty of other hydrating drinks to rely on, as well. Fruit juice, for instance, can really break up the monotony of glass after glass of water. Certain juices can help with different things, too. Orange juice fights inflammation, grape juice improves brain function and so on. We can’t ignore the power of tea, either. A good detox tea improves cholesterol, reduces blood level sugars, fights bloating, and acts as a natural diuretic. Even one cup a day to go with the water and fruit juice can do you a lot of good.

The bad

So, what should you be cutting out? One of the greatest culprits for both weight gain and addiction to unhealthy dietary habits is soda. The more you can cut it from your life, the better. Most cans of soda contain around 10 teaspoonfuls of soda, to begin with.  Even diet sodas tend to contain artificial sweeteners which can be bad for your bone health and cause dental problems with a lot of consumption. Beyond soda, alcohol is something we all need to be careful with. A glass of wine a day might be good for you, but indulging in it too often can cause problems like stomach ulcers, increased blood pressure, and long-term loss of brain cells.

The ugly

Too much of a good thing is bad for you, as we know. There are side effects to all the positives mentioned above. For one, drinking too much water or fruit juice can lead to unpleasant bloating that will stick with you for hours. Tea is best in the evenings so it can help you deal with that bloating. As for tea, even those miracle drinks can have side effects if you drink so much, including the urge to keep running back to the toilet.

Yes, tea and water are much better for you than alcohol and soda. They are undoubtedly replacements you should make. But there are unexpected side effects even to healthy drinks you should be prepared for, too.

There is so much more that we could be investing into our bodies to help them achieve what they are capable of. It doesn’t mean that you have to stretch it to the max like top athletes; you only have to get it to a point where you notice that your body is thanking you for the changes. This could be that you’re not struggling to get to the top of a flight of stairs without losing your breath, or keeping a clear and focused mind throughout the day. Certain changes need to be made throughout your daily routine, but as soon as they start to become habit, the rest should flow along just nicely.

Taking Care of Hair and Teeth

Hair and teeth don’t last forever – at least not in the condition that you would continually like them to be in. Our hair colour starts to fade, and teeth take on a lot of the brunt of what we intake on a daily basis – can you really expect them to last forever? There are services from Dental Brush which may be able to help if you think that your teeth have gone past a point where brushing alone won’t help them, or if you don’t have a good brushing and flossing routine in place, now’s your time to get started before anything untoward happens. It is mainly your diet that affects the state of your teeth; the more water that you drink instead of soda, for example, the less likely you are to see tooth decay. Genetics also has a big part to play in determining how long your teeth will last, what colour they will appear to be as you get older and how strong they will be when chomping through your daily food. Get yourself at the least an electric toothbrush and an interdental brush, as well as some dentist-recommended toothpaste, and you will be well on your way to ensuring you have given yourself the best restart to getting into the habit of a brilliant brushing routine.

Getting Your Fluid Intake

Not enough of us are drinking the recommended amount of water each day. We are dehydrating ourselves without really realizing it. Sure, we can get through the day by getting most of our water content through what we eat and odd cups here and there, but what we need to get us working fully and to the standard that we should be expecting of ourselves is eight glasses of eight ounces of water per day. You can add in a few more if you wish. If this seems like a huge amount, build up to it slowly and see if you can notice the benefits from what you are intaking – it should be more noticeable to you after only a couple of days of doing it.

Exercising Regularly

Exercise doesn’t have to be working out so much that you faint. A lot of people have an idea of exercise as something to avoid because it’s too much effort, but there are little changes that you can make to your daily routine that will all add up to one mass effect of speeding up your heart rate a just a touch – every little helps. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator, walking more instead of driving everywhere and getting up more at work to do things (i.e. taking steps over to your colleague for a chat instead of emailing them) are all proactive steps towards getting just that little bit fitter. You won’t even notice that you’re doing it. If you want to go even further than this, try running or joining a local sports team that you will enjoy. Think about the sports that you enjoyed while you were at school; there is always someone who has taken them on further and made them into an adult league.

Eating What’s Right

Our diet has a lot to compensate for when it comes to how we are feeling on a daily basis. Eating the wrong types of food, as comforting as it can seem at the time, can have a disastrous effect on how you feel the next day. Bloated, lethargic, unmotivated – these are all symptoms not of a serious disease in most cases, but of a bad diet. Eating superfoods and stuff laden with the right vitamins that are needed to get you through the day are the things that you should be doing, rather than sticking with the junk food that has propelled you along this far. You should begin to notice that you are feeling more energised, have the motivation to tackle your day and the concentration span to go with it. These are things that you don’t have to take pills to achieve – you simply have to be consuming the right things at the right time (i.e. no late night snacks!) to be able to fuel yourself correctly for the days, weeks and years ahead of you.

Going For Checkups

It is so important to go for regular checkups throughout the year. This goes for your eyes, your teeth, any gynecological checks that you may need to attend and general health checks from your doctor. If you haven’t got any appointments booked, get on the phone or on the web and start booking yourself in. Even if there is nothing wrong, it is always best to get looked at to ensure this and so you have the health professional’s word. Taking the time to care about yourself will only ever benefit you; don’t see it as a chore, but something that you need to indulge in to get to a better quality of life. If we treated objects in the same way that we treat our bodies, such as a car for example, it would break and we would only be at fault for not giving it the correct care and attention that it deserved. Our bodies are the same. Take care of them; you’ve only got the one for life.
