I hope y’all are staying warm! I’m heading home to Laytonsville this weekend. I feel like I say that a lot but since I’ve flown the coop, I truly treasure my time with my parents, either with Kendall or without. Although, it’s funny- my mom said it would have been weird if it was just me there for Christmas this year. I love that he and my family are as close as they are! Anyway, Friday night and Saturday morning I’m going to try and clean our apartment before going QT with Mama and Daddy D. One of my goals for 2018 is to minimize and organize.

I’ve got my eye on…

With it this cold I have zero, zilch, none interest in working out. Perhaps a pair of Glitter Bomb Sneakers would do the trick?

The same shop also has LEOPARD duck boots! How extra perfect is that?

Pretty much everything in the Petite Delights shop can go right onto my wish list- and I’m pretty sure it’s all on sale! Heart eyes for every single pair of earrings.

Don’t forget you can always peek at my wish list over in my sidebar. Here’s what I’m currently craving:

Around the internet

Since we got hit with a cold snap, I decided to try my hand at homemade chicken noodle soup! Total win! This recipe serves as a great base and you can add a little of this and that to make it your own. My biggest personal tip? Cook the noodles first! My boss told me that and she was so right! It’s also filling enough that one bowl is a good size for dinner and this has lasted me three nights. via Allrecipes

I, sadly, got no snow day this past week and am hoping, praying, and wearing my jammies inside out and backwards for at least one blizzard so I have an adult snow day. via Popsugar

I have never made any bones about the fact that I love everything personalized. I don’t know if it’s a prep thing or an etiquette thing but I especially love personalized stationary. My sweet bridesmaid Juliana got me rose gold thank you notes as an engagement present, but so many people came to the luncheon that she and her mom hosted for me that I’m going to need more stationary. I also don’t have any address labels, so I apologize for anyone waiting on a thank you note from me because I have to wait for those to send my mail.

I popped around the internet and found adorable return address labels and  thank you postcards that I can personalize- on sale to boot! I decided on the stationary just in time because through December 28th, Zazzle is offering Up to 60% Off Cards, Mugs, Ornaments, Calendars & More & 15% Off Sitewide! Even though I’ve really been focusing on my Etsy shop, this sale does include my Zazzle store, so you might want to check that out too!

I realized that I needed return address labels first. Since I’m taking Kendall’s last name in April, I decided to use my middle name for both the return address labels and the thank you notes. The return address labels are actually from a wedding collection, but gold glitter works with the entire brand I’ve created for myself. #shiny

I decided against specifically wedding thank you notes so that I could order in bulk and use them beyond, but since my wedding incorporates blush/ rose gold, it does work for that too! To be just a little greener, I don’t mind postcards rather than enveloped cards.

Now that Christmas is over, do you have all the stationary you need to send your thank you notes?

Ok so remember when I said that having my own Etsy shop would be a learning experience? It has been, believe me.

One of the best things I’ve done is join a Facebook group devoted to Etsy buyers and sellers. I say this as not only a seller- but as a buyer I found a few really perfect Christmas presents/ stocking stuffers that I might not have found otherwise. It’s a funky little community, but mostly supportive, and very forthcoming with the advice.

It’s not a secret that I’ve wanted to have my own t-shirt line since… forever? The rise of graphic tees when I was in middle school probably really kicked it off. Logistically, I didn’t think I’d really be able to make it happen for a quite a few years. There’s the cost of production, keeping track of inventory, and shipping- not to mention the upfront cost of all of that- just is not feasible for my current budget and lifestyle. Playing around with Amazon and Zazzle, I got a couple things going. I’ve even made sales on Zazzle- and not just from myself! It didn’t seem quite right having two totally different shops though- Etsy for my digital prints and Zazzle for my shirts, but I would make it work. Until, from the aforementioned Facebook group, I found a place that could integrate my designs into products and link directly to my Etsy, even pricing the products for me. HOLLAH! Printify makin’ my dreams come true.

Here’s the short version of how it works- I decide what products I want my designs on, upload the designs to that product, and then Printify links the product directly to my Etsy. I can edit the product description, title, etc. on my Etsy once that’s finished, and it’s right there in my shop! They take care of the production and shipping.

Somewhat related, I also bought a Print On Demand License from my favorite graphic shop on Etsy. I chose WriteLovely to be my exclusive design “partner” for many reasons: she has a huge selection of gorgeous graphics, they’re inexpensive, buying a license from her insures that all my designs are legally mine, and having one graphic person I work with will make my shop more cohesive. I’m not going to close my Zazzle shop, because what’s the point of disregarding all the work I’ve already put into that? But going forward, my Etsy will be my focus, along with, of course, continuing to build my blog brand.

Thank you for sticking with me as I figure this all out!

Contrary to one of my favorite sweaters, and this may be an unpopular opinion here, but I’d rather be cold than hot. Cold = more cuddles, more blankets, more lovely layers (perhaps in a nice plaid?). When I’m hot, I’m cranky- and don’t let me get hot, hungry, and sleepy at the same time or else. Granted, I don’t like it too cold, but I can deal. Some people in my life, not so much.

Fixing the side effects from the cold does not just mean warming up. A winter chill can dry out the skin and ruin your mood. If you have friends or family who would rather spend winters where the sun always shines, help them flip it around to enjoy what I like to think of as “snuggle season”. Think gifts to keep cozy: comforting scents, soft textures, skin soothers.

Personally, I love curling up with a cup of coffee, candles lit all over the apartment, and tree decorated to watch a favorite movie. What’s your favorite way to keep warm when it’s chilly?

Happy first Friday in December! Kendall and I are decorating our little tree this weekend. I can’t wait! I’m also doing a little adventure with Dani to Sarah‘s engagement party and on Sunday there’s cat yoga at Crumbs & Whiskers with a long lost pal! This weekend is so full of love I can’t stand it!

Baby It’s Cold Outside Print & T-Shirt

Lately on The CaroLøve:

There’s a HUGE sale in my Etsy shop today only: 50% off all digital prints (excluding custom work). Because they are digital, you can download and use the designs for shirts, journals, cards, etc. No code needed!

Speaking of my little shop, one of my prints has found a home on Sarah’s bar cart!

I LOVE Brea’s style (in fact, Kendall had to stop me from running off with her jacket one crazy night at Hawthorne) and her vacation style for Cuba was too fun!

I also sold my first shirt from my Zazzle shop! My Stella & Dot stylist (and friend) Erica customized the Topknot Mascara Coffee Tee and I can’t wait to see her rock it!

If you’re looking for glam-y beauty & body gifts, check out my Sissy’s LimeLight by Alcone goodies! I ordered a couple things for Christmas gifting yesterday. She uses the products herself and with her family, so I know I can trust them!

The Jack Rogers duck boots I loved last year (but never bought) are half the original price at Lord & Taylor.

I was browsing Nordstrom for gifts for my office holiday dinner and I came across these most adorable pajams. I like the gingerbread set myself- what’s your fave?
