Good morning and happy Friday (THE 13TH), loves! Is anyone else having a rough time staying focused? Maybe it’s the winter doldrums, but I’ve needed an extra coffee almost every day this week!

I can’t wait for my girls night tonight at Sax, and I’m heading to Mason Inn tomorrow night for their Back to the 80’s Costume Party featuring the Heirs of Hair. Having Mason walking distance from us is the best- we’re totally loving the neighborhood vibe!

This week on The CaroLøve:

Grace inspired me to ditch the drugstore moisturizer + go for essential oil instead. I honestly just went to Wholefoods and stood in the aisle and sniffed until one spoke to me, making sure that I was just buying an essential oil- no additional ingredients. I picked Cheer Up Buttercup because it smelled like sunshine to me, and was a combo of citrus oils. I’ve only been using it for about 24 hours, but so far, so good! The bottle I got for it isn’t really dispensing it well, but a couple drops instead of what I was using and my face feels soft, but not oily and smells wonderful. I’ll let you guys know in like a month if it’s done anything to my skin either way.

*EDIT* my former roommate told me that undiluted citrus oil can actually damage skin, and I should be mixing my essential oil with a moisturizing oil- like almond or grapeseed oil. I guess I was just too excited to try something all-natural for my skin and jumped in without the proper research.

Edit pt. 2: I was entirely too excited to start a new skincare routine and definitely just jumped into it. There wasn’t a whole lot of info on the bottle of oil I got- just basically that it was oil with no additives. Apparently, I should not have been using this on my skin AT. ALL. – so it’s a good thing Meghann caught me. I am immediately switching to something made for faces. Please consult a dermatologist for any drastic skincare changes, or at least do your research first. I’m so sorry.

Fellow cat-lady Dani rounded up some of the chicest kitty-cat pieces for your closet.

I’m not vegan nor will I ever be, but I think this is an interesting piece. Should vegans wear faux fur? I guess I never thought of a reason not to before. In the spirit of full disclosure, I don’t wear fur, mostly because I’m horribly allergic, but I do wear leather and eat meat. You make your choices, and I will make mine.

My coworker/ photog took and impromptu trip to Lancaster for NYE. Apparently, that is the place to be!

Ok, so I know I just about always think this, but the new collection from Kate Spade is everything. Dinosaurs? Hearts? Balloons? SOLD.

Is anyone else kind of really excited that these sneakers are back? My mom had a pair that she gave to me for a muddy field trip in 7th grade and I wish they hadn’t been destroyed. I might have to get us each a pair!

Have a great weekend!
