Anyone else totally over this weather of wet and cold in the morning then almost 80 in the afternoons? It makes it so hard to get dressed in the morning!

I’m looking forward to a low key weekend of pumpkin carving, pumpkin seed baking, and Zoom yoga.

If you’re in the Montgomery County, MD area, and especially if you have littles, you should check out the pumpkin patch at St. John’s in Olney. It gives kiddos a pumpkin patch experience in a safe environment without having to worry about a hay wagon ride or crowds.

I mentioned them on my old blog, but I have recently rediscovered MeFrangrance! I’d read about a perfume that’s a combo of pumpkin pie and lavender. Sounds weird but those are two of my favorite scents. Since it’s sold out (or impossible to find), I decided to whip up my own. As per their instructions, I created a perfume that’s 45% middle notes (Pumpkin Spice), 30% top notes (Lavender), and 25% base notes (Vanilla Bean goes well with lavender and pumpkin, IMO). I learned after my last try that less is more, and I really love how this one turned out!

Did you see my post about how I’ve become somewhat of an Amazon Influencer? I have to really give this sweater a shoutout for being one of the softest sweaters I’ve ever owned.

I’ve just about run my little gold Coach loafers into the ground, even after taking them to my cobbler last year for some love. I had this rose gold pair of Lena Loafers on my Nordstrom wish list for months, and they’re 60% off! They’re still available in most sizes and SUPER comfy.

I’ve been perfecting my skincare routine, especially with maskne, and I am so thrilled to have a vanity tray that displays everything I use to nicely, including the little jewelry dish it came with!

I had been thinking about bringing back my TGIF posts and when I went to see when I had posted my last one, it was the week before my life changed forever. OOF.

No time like the present to renew and restart one of my favorite blog features. I’ll be back to rounding up my favorite features, sales, and things I love! Maybe not every week, but definitely when I’m feeling inspired, and I’m certainly going to try and be more consistent with it!

I basically didn’t wear earrings for a few years because my ears would end up hurting after a couple of hours. I thought I was super sensitive to any metals, but I’ve come to discover that it may actually have been the backs bothering me. I’ve recently started wearing huggie hoops, alternating between a pair I got from the Nordstrom sale (these are similar and I actually like them better), and a bigger set my mom got me from The Laytonville Family Room.

Have you been to Mercy Me yet? It’s becoming one of my favorite spots in DC. They have an excellent HUGE patio for outdoor dining, a killer menu, and fun cocktails. I suggest the Hen And Pancakes (kind of their take on chicken and waffles) and Egg Arepas.

Especially this year, don’t forget your flu shot! I absolutely love being a member of One Medical-they actually sent me a reminder and I could walk into the office at any time the lab was open to get it taken care of.

If you’re looking for fall candles to cozy up your home, try shopping small (and local to DC!) I’m obsessed with my Bellamy Rae fall box, and Sarah just came out with new candles, inspired by her toddler, Bellamy, herself! How cute is that!?

I just finished reading Hollywood Park by Mikel Jollett. It took me a little while to get into it but I ended up not being able to put it down:

Kendall is still in AZ for work (again) so I’m heading back to Laytsonville tonight to do Joe’s Ride + Stride with my dad. It’s such a sweet even remembering Olney’s children who have died, including my own sister. I always run into families I grew up with and it’s always a nice community event.

When we were on the cruise, Kendall and I both got facials. I was told I had great skin but large pores. So when my local CVS was having a buy 2 get 1 free on NYX, I decided to try their pore filler. It makes my face feel like satin! No joke!

Loft has had some great sales recently and I’ve been revamping my spring wardrobe into ONLY things that make me feel fabulous. This was my Easter dress… and apparently I wore it backwards? STILL WORKED THOUGH.

I think because it’s springtime and pollen is a thing my eyes have been extra sensitive. I have a great cheap pair of glasses from Zenni, but I was dumb and didn’t get them with blue blockers. I went to my bff Amazon Prime and found blue blocker glasses WITH my (very mild) prescription! Under $10! Hoping they give my peepers some peace!

BEYOND excited that I can honestly do my entire skincare regime with Brandless now! They’ve added spray toner, eye gel, and face wipes to their lineup- plus the ability to make a subscription box. YAY!

I am SO SO SO SO SO excited for this weekend. Tomorrow I’m taking a friend to Rocklands for wine tasting for her birthday then to Seasons 52 for lunch with my mom. Tomorrow night Kendall gets back from 3 weeks in Arizona for work and then SUNDAY IS OUR ANNIVERSARY! I can’t believe it’s been a year since we got married!

I actually got this facial spray to hit $100 for free shipping on jeans but GURL it smells like a spa. I’m keeping it in my desk for pick-me-ups at work.

Currently wearing this Long Sleeve Swing Dress from Gap Factory. It’s so soft and looks especially great belted! Unbelted it hits just at my knees so shorties might want to try it in petite if you don’t want to belt it!

I’ve been saying for years that I want to get back into dancing and I finally have! I’ve been trying out all the classes at Jordin’s Paradise in DuPont Circle and I’m SO excited to do hip-hop tonight!

I finally stopped into Gregory’s Coffee– there’s one just across the street from my office. I recommend the iced Honey Badger- but only if you like your coffee sweet!

Happy Friday!

I have been on a roll this week! This is my 5th post and I feel back to my old self as far as blogging. I’d like to get more outfit posts but between the cold and my schedule, I’m not sure that’ll really happen until spring. Until then, I’m just hoping to keep this momentum up!

This weekend I’m going home on Saturday to see a play with my mom and then meeting an elementary school friend for lunch in Bethesda on Sunday. We’ve been trying to catch up for months, which is hard when she’s mostly a west-coaster.

Ew. I honestly have not done a TGIF since November. I’m slacking, and I’m sorry. The holidays and work have kept me super busy, but I got some good news this week that has me boosted. I think 2019 is going to be a great year!

Who’s excited for the Super Bowl this weekend? I for one am excited to make something yummy to take to our neighbors’ place and relax with one of my favorite couples. I truly couldn’t care less about the games. Go Rams, I guess?

I absolutely fell in love with a Chanel bag a little while bag that I’ve seen online for $5-$10k. LOL not ever going to happen. HOW-EV-VER I found a dupe! For just over $100!

I had two recent Etsy purchases- one was a dope and one was a nope. The dope was the Saturday Morning Cereal Whipped Body Butter that I raved about on Insta. The nope? Let’s just say I won’t be buying anymore candles from Etsy… unless I want to commit arson. Nobody ever wants to hear, “BABE THIS WHOLE THING IS ON FIRE,” when they have an abundance candle lit, let me tell you.

Happy Friday!

Kendall and I are psyched for this weekend because WE’RE GETTING A NEW CAR! I have to give a massive shout out to Carvana + Geico for making the whole process ridiculously easy. Seriously- it’s like GrubHub for cars. Kendall’s “Tuxxy” mobile has been a great little vehicle but it’s been driven pretty much into the ground. My little Barbie car PT Cruiser, Brianna, will continue living her life mostly in Laytonsville as a spare car, and it’ll be fun having our new car together!

My Auntie Steph told me that with my hair red now, I can wear different colors than I could as a blonde. I’m discovering that I actually quite enjoy being an “autumn” and mustard/ ginger (one of the MANY colors this sweater comes in) actually works for me now.

I’ve had this discussion with my friend Ally so many times. I have no idea why we were all so obsessed with hoodies in college because crew neck sweatshirts + quarter zips are clearly where it’s at.

I have a similar version of this dress in black from Loft and it’s so comfy! The pink is a bit much but the green, burgundy, and purple are all very pretty!

Happy Friday!

How about that little bit of crazy weather we had yesterday? I loved it- until it turned from snow to ice on my way to work.

This weekend is pretty low-key. Kendall is working most of the weekend, but I’m actually going to a memorial for one of my high school administrators on Sunday. Mrs. Beach was an incredible lady and will be very missed by the St. Andrew’s community. I’m also going to Olney for the Sunday night church service to meet a new congregant who went to Rider a few years ahead of me. Sunday will be a day of reflection, for sure.

Happy Friday!

This weekend, Kendall and I are celebrating my old roommate’s birthday at Nooshi but other than that… NO PLANS! I think I’m going to use that time to tackle the closet of no return in out entry hallway. That’s where our Christmas tree lives, and despite the fact that Kendall told me he wouldn’t come home if I put our tree up before Thanksgiving, I want to make sure it’s ready to go and easy to access as soon as that time comes!

I could go on an on about things I love about New jersey, but the bagels are a huge thing I miss. My sorority little’s mom actually sent me home with a bag of bagels the last time I visited. That’s why I am SUPER excited to try Call Your Mother Deli. Somehow, I married a man who does not like bagels so I literally group-chatted all of my blogger friends immediately asking if anyone wanted to go. With the holidays coming up, so are a lot of chances to eat. Instead of punishing yourself for eating that extra slice of pie, why not try allowing it and enjoying it? I’d never heard of intuitive eating before, but it makes sense and I’ve experienced it! If I eat junk for a couple days, my bod tells me to give it a salad. Ever since I learned how to read, I’ve truly believed in the magic of books. I got my DC library card earlier this year, and visiting the library still feels so special. I almost cried reading this post about Finding Home in a Public Library, because it actually transported me to the little library I grew up going to in Olney. My mom never minded dropping money on books (and still doesn’t) but going to the library was still always such an adventure. Happy Friday!

I hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween! Kendall and I had so much fun exploring our neighborhood and handing out candy with our new neighbor friends. I’m excited for a relaxing weekend gettin’ lit… with my fall candles.

I found another Brandless product that I LOVE! The Grapefruit Facial Scrub is like getting a facial every day. Kendall even noticed how clear my skin is! (Just don’t get in in your eyes because that was a PAIN. Literally.)

Raise your hand if you were SO excited for Blair Eadie’s collection with Halogen at Nordstrom. I was so psyched, specifically for the Tiered Tulle Midi Skirt. Unfortunately, it was returned immediately. I looked ridiculous. I still so respect the collection for being size inclusive and affordable, so definitely check it out!
