I couldn’t do a post on our boys without a post on my girls. I’ve honestly been putting this off because I knew it would be pretty involved and there’s nothing I can say that can fully capture how important and amazing my bridesmaids were for me.

One of the biggest challenges in planning our wedding was knowing that my sister couldn’t be one of my bridesmaids, at least physically up there in a navy blue dress with me. I’ve known who I wanted my bridesmaids to be pretty much for years. My mom said this to me at the tea party she hosted but the girls who were in my wedding are my sisters. I can never thank Casey, Jojo, Tiffany, Kaytee, BHy, Little Jules, and Little for being there and being such a calming presence. They’re beautiful inside and out.

After being in so many weddings, I knew I wanted to spoil my girls the way they spoiled me. I started collecting gifties early, starting with personalized totes and water bottles. Next, I wanted to give them jewelry to wear for the wedding. I found perfect earrings from sugarfix baublebar, but Bhy is unpierced so I got her a coordinating bracelet.

I stole a page from Joanne’s book and did PJs instead of the traditional bathrobes- the pants from Victoria’s Secret and the tops by me! The hangers were a little prop to ensure all the dresses (including mine!) looked nice hanging in pictures. No, they weren’t personalized, but they did the job better than plastic or wire!

Their last gift was their hair for the wedding. Here’s my opinion – first of all, everyone loves to be pampered, and these girls did so much for me and they deserved it. I also had a vision of all of their hair being up. I think if you want your bridesmaids to have a certain look, that should be on you as a bride. I gave them some freedom here, but I chose low, loose up-dos incorporating a braid. I wanted all of them to feel as confident and beautiful as they are, so I gave them the option to pick their own dresses. Navy’s a pretty universally flattering color, and I had originally planned to pick their David’s Bridal dresses for them. But there were too many I liked, so I gave them the instructions for anything marine, long, and sans glitter.

I was hoping they would all choose something different- and they did! And they were stunning. I truly lucked out with the women I chose to have beside me on one of the most important days of my life. There was no drama, no weird group dynamic, no issues at all. Thank you so much, my lovely ladies in formation, for being my sisters. My perfect day would not have been complete without you!
