I’m not sure if you’re aware (I wasn’t until recently) but “Disney prohibits anyone over the age of 14 from sporting a costume in its parks, because it has the potential to infringe on the official characters that Disney employs”. (Thank you Refinery 29). I actually dated a former cast member handler for a while, and he told me I’d be a shoe-in for Alice/ Tinkerbelle, so I guess I can see this. However, you can Disneybound.

If you’ve never heard of the term Disneybound, let me educate you really fast. Starting on Tumblr in 2012 and becoming a mainstream concept since, it’s essentially creating outfits inspired by your favorite Disney characters, be it from a movie, ride, what have you. You can check out the original blog here.

I actually get kind of annoyed at adults that are SO OBSESSED with Disney. Like, yeah, Kendall and I call our apartment Pride Rock and I’d like to go to Disneyworld for my 30th birthday but some of it is all just cliché to me. I’m just not a huge fan of the actual Disney princesses. I was kind of fond of Aurora from Sleeping Beauty because of her dress that changed colors at the end, but really, until the mid/ late 90s the princesses were almost totally useless. Incidentally, my sister’s favorite princesses were Pocahontas and Jasmine- two of the less damsel-y options.

I said it before on Little Bitty City One, but the animals were really what I loved. Especially the cats. Oliver & Company, A Goofy Movie, Aristocats, Lion King… those were my favorites! (Alice in Wonderland too but again, not a princess.) I also dragged my Grandaddy and Gramma Dee around Epcot until I found a stuffed Figaro from Pinocchio to bring home with me in 4th grade.

The reason why I wanted to Disneybound my girl Marie is that I think she best mirrors me. She’s small and sassy, looks great in pink, is kind of a show-off, and doesn’t like to be told what to do. She’s also a bit of a whiner and a mama’s girl.  Yup. I’m Marie.

If you were a Disney character, which one do you think you’d be?
