Now that I’ve introduced you to Dirty Hippy Swag, I wanted to show how you how I’m rocking my absolute favorite product: the Existential Crisis – White Sweatpants. This was before an actual workout in the little gym at my apartment complex- no makeup, yesterday’s hair, and my sweet fiance setting me up for these shots.

One of the things I particularly love about Dirty Hippy Swag is that the “company encompasses hoodies, sweatpants, and t-shirts: things we wear when we want to feel safe.” Generally, I feel safe. I feel safe in my relationships with friends and family, safe in that I have an adorable apartment to go home to, food to eat, and a job to sustain them both. I’ve never had to deal with violent or otherwise unpleasant discrimination due to my race or sexuality.

My issues with safety come from within. I can be insecure, worry too much, get too inside my own head and sometimes that can be a scary place. It’s the worst when I don’t even know why I’m panicked and I can’t control it. And sometimes it’s OK to just curl up in something soft and secure until I calm down. It’s happening less frequently than it used to, to be sure, but sometimes I just need a good cry, a good run, or a funny movie.

When I opened my sweet package {courtesy of} Dirty Hippy Swag, I had a handwritten note from Marisa telling me that I had her permission to dirty up these white sweatpants. (They are super soft by the way! I’m wearing a small and they’re a bit long, but I love the way they fit on my booty.) I’m not sure if she understands how refreshing that was. In my professional world- everything has to be perfect (dealing with other people’s money tends to be like that). In my blogging world, every move is on social media and documented to be dissected. In these sweatpants, in my backyard, I was just comfy, giggly me, showing off the brand one of my friends has worked so hard for.

So be comfortable in your own skin. And if you’re not, try to make it that way. Get a little dirty, put on something soft- it’ll be OK.

.

Thank you to Dirty Hippy Swag for gifting me with Existential Crisis – White Sweatpants. As always, all opinions are my own!
