…charcoal that is. I’ve been naughty- to my skin. Let me explain.
Just when my skin was happy, soft, and clear… I messed up. I read a blog post from a British blogger about a Korean BB cream with tea tree oil in it. I was intrigued, as tea tree oil is supposed to be very good for the skin. I found it on Amazon for under $10 and decided to give it a go, even though I was perfectly happy with my Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer for every day.
Ladies, if I teach you nothing else in the whole of this entire blog- let me tell you that once you find something that works for your skin, don’t mess with it! Especially if the ingredients are in another language because who the heck knows what I was doing to myself.
I went from having skin complimented by makeup friends to the return of the cystic acne all over my chin and neck. It’s horrible. I call it uggo-face and I feel like I’m back in middle school. And my stubborn ass just FINALLY threw the stuff away because I didn’t want to waste it. Yes. I KEPT using it like an idiot until I finally started getting itchy hives on top of the breakout. No. More.
I told you yesterday about my online Etsy community. I have found some of the nicest little extras for Christmas from that group, but I also went to these makers with my skin problem. Not only did I receive a bunch of product suggestions, but an aesthetician also answered my plea for help. She said to monitor my stress levels, monitor my cycle (hormones have a lot to do with chin acne), pay attention to my diet, and watch my routine for talking on the phone more, etc. She also suggested a mask and an exfoliator one to two times a week.
Based on her suggestions for a routine and the recommendation of products from other Etsy sellers, I think I’ve come up with a new skincare routine. I’m wanting to go more natural with my skincare, because forget ingredients being in another language, even if they’re in English I don’t always know what they are and that’s probably not good.
