A week ago, I had the most incredible chance to walk the Strong Women in Fashion show. It was a chance to sip champagne and enjoy hand-crafted hors d’oeuvres by Via Umbria, while supporting women from all backgrounds. The Strong Women in Fashion showcased the latest spring trends with new arrivals from Signature Dresses and LiLi The First, as well as the newest trends in hair and makeup featuring Illusions Salon of Georgetown.

This event was hosted by female business owners uniting together to empower more women in the workforce by donating proceeds, including ticket sales, to Suited for Change. Suited for Change is the leading area nonprofit providing professional attire, mentoring, and job-readiness skills to women seeking financial independence.

I am by no means a model, but it was such a cool experience to be part of the show and with some of my closest gal pals. Getting dolled up with my friends is always fun, but knowing we were supporting such an amazing cause really made the hurry-up-and-wait kind of day totally worth it. That, and it was such a boost to see how many of our other friends, family, and significant others came out for the show.

You may have seen my Instagram post, but Kendall actually took the day to help set up and generally do whatever needed an extra set of hands. Then he got all dressed up to take tickets and to see the show. Watching him watch me actually made me tear up a little bit because in less than a year, he’ll look at me again like that for our wedding. It was really awesome for him to meet so many of my blogger babes in person, finally, and to have so many people tell me what a huge help he was. He’s the best.

While we were getting dressed above the show, we could actually look down on the attendees. You should have heard us getting excited seeing our friends and family arrive! Truly, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone who came out to support! My mom came with her Quad Squad (the four on the first grade team who are out in the portables) and my cousin who I haven’t seen in years was able to attend at well. That meant so much to me! It was an amazing event ~ thank you infinitely to everyone who helped set it up and attended to support Suited for Change!
