Planning a girls weekend away, whether it’s for a bachelorette party or just any excuse to get away and blow off some steam, is not always easy and it can sometimes feel like a little bit of a logistical headache. However planning for a great weekend, that everyone will enjoy without any hiccups along the way is all in the detail, so here is our essential survival kit to ensure a great time is had by all.

It’s All In The Detail

Forward thinking and careful planning will mean that you are prepared for every eventuality on your trip away. If you are going to be doing a lot of city exploring on foot, or countryside trekking then make sure you are well prepared with maps and blister bandages. There’s nothing that brings the mood of a weekend down than sore feet, getting lost and essentially, moaning girls. So thinking ahead of all the little necessary details will make sure your group stay cheerful and positive.

It’s All In The Planning

Planning the weekend is also really important. Obviously you don’t want to have every hour of every day organized down to military precision but you should at least have a vague idea of what you all want to do when you arrive at your weekend getaway destination. Talk to all the girls in your group about what everyone fancies doing and then start thinking about how you can fit all those things into your weekend. If you are wanting to create an organised schedule make sure you always allocate sections of each day where nothing is organized so that there is always free time for people to go off and do whatever they want for a couple of hours here and there

Have a look at any interesting festivals, concerts and events that may be happening in the place that you’re going to, to see if there’s anything unique that you can go and see and get involved in. And don’t get discouraged if plans fail- I was at a bachelorette weekend when one girl lost her ID. Rather than sulk about having to change plans when we couldn’t go to a bar, we went out for a crab feast instead and had a BLAST.

Fighting Off Those Inevitable Hangovers

We’ve all been there. Getting a little overly excited on the first night and overdoing it. The rest of the weekend can then be a bit of a washout with the group feeling groggy, tired and hungover. There are however some tricks to avoid this, other than, well, not getting carried and drinking so much.
