Just when I think that Stella & Dot can’t get much better, they collaborate with Rebecca Minkoff, an award-winning designer and internationally admired global lifestyle brand. This collection captures the spirit of downtown New York City, where Stella & Dot’s jewelry is designed and handcrafted with love.

I love this collection because it combines designer items with mid-range prices plus that Stella & Dot quality and care I’ve become accustomed to. The jewel-tones in the colorful pieces such as the Pixie Studs make the collection a perfect addition to any autumn style. Meanwhile, the more delicate pieces, such as the Celestial Ear Climbers still come in fun, unexpected silhouettes.

I thought it might be interesting to do a complete Rebecca Minkoff look featuring the collaboration. It might be considered gauche to dress in head to toe of one designer, but if models can do it down the runway, why can’t we do the same skipping through life like it’s our own private fashion show?

I’m also curious- if you could pick any one designer for Stella & Do to collaborate with next- who would it be and why? Let me know in the comments!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. It’s the first weekend of my favorite month which also happens to be the weekend of Chowderfest. Time for the annual girls’ trip to Long Beach Island, NJ to buy all the things and eat all the things and generally enjoy life and the sisterhood of friendship. Like- there’s a picture of Tiffany and I hanging up in one of the gift shops. I grew up going down the shore but since we sold our house, it’s been this weekend that completes my little half-Jersey heart. We’ll stock up at the Island Gypsy sale and I ignore that I’m just a little allergic to shellfish. WHOOPS. What do you have planned this weekend?

Lateley on The CaroLøve:

I’m beyond ecstatic that a Stella&Dot x RebeccaMinkoff collection is a thing and the pieces are GORGEOUS!

Every once in a while I just need to share a friend’s outfit post. My girl Rox killed it for NYFW!

So, SO happy that The Diner made this list of top breakfast (not brunch) spots in DC. (Go for the chorizo omletes.)

A huge congrats to Christine for making the Top 100 French Blogs and Websites for Francophiles!

I know I’m obsessed with my PosyPaper Planner but Tiff just told me about a new planner I may try for 2018. You can get the The Happiness 100-Day Planner at Anthropologie for $26, but I may splurge for the dated Jan-Dec.

After over a year of bugging ever Trader Joe’s cashier I have come across and recieving varying answers, it has been confirmed that we’re getting one in Glover Park! YAS. (Kendall, love, you can still keep going to Safeway for your pickles. I won’t fight you on that.)

On a very serious note, one of my college friends has organized a Puerto Rico Relief Fund. My tie to Puerto Rico is that one of my best friends’ family is from there and I had the privilege to visit the island with her, his are much deeper. Beyond that, please don’t forget that Puerto Ricans are our American brothers and sisters and they need our help. From Joe’s page:

Though Hurricane Maria is long gone from Puerto Rico, the island’s people are still struggling to cope with the chaos and destruction the storm left behind. As some are aware I am of Puerto Rican descent with several family members on the island who are facing a growing humanitarian crisis. My family and I visited the island earlier this year after the passing of my father who had been living there for the past 7 years.

In his honor and on behalf of my family I have felt compelled to do what I can to raise money and support relief efforts. My Uncle Robert Gonzalez and I are setting up this page to raise funds to support our efforts to buy and send much needed supplies directly to local organizations on the ground.  Robert will be overseeing logistics of getting supplies from his warehouse in Elizabeth NJ to Port San Juan.

Happy late summer fall Friday! My friends seem pretty split on the team summer/ team fall situation, but I know I for one and thrilled that I got to bust out my boots yesterday when it was below 60 as I got dressed for work. Plans this weekend include lunch at the Cathedral and maybe a nap?

My thoughts are with Florida this week. I grew up going back and forth a few times a year and have family and close family friends in both south Florida and the Keys. Please be safe, everyone!

Lately on The CaroLøve:

I found a really nifty app called Acorns for micro-investing that essentially lets you set it and forget it by investing spare change from purchases you’re already making. I honestly have no idea how to invest, but would like to learn (and save up for a down payment on a house), so this app seems just about right for me. I’ve read a ton of reviews, and it seems as though the one downside is a $12 annual fee for accounts under $5000. The best review I’ve seen about it is on Budgets are Sexy as it lays out all the pros and cons. Because of the nature of my new job, I’m waiting for approval to finish my signing up process, but I’d love to know if you’ve ever used it! If you’re interested in trying it out, you can use my link and get an automatic $5 with your first investment!

I’m all about shopping local and I’m so excited that Shop Made in DC is going to be a thing come October!

I really, really love trains, probably because my cool af grandfather collected models and took me on an overnight train trip when I was little. There’s a train trip in Canada I want to take with massive windows and NO WIFI so you can enjoy the sights of the country and the stars at night. SO DOWN.

As much as I sometimes get down on myself and my shape, I truly believe that fashion has no size.

There are really only so many ways you can arrange a one-bedroom apartment, but when I get that home, I’ll be taking note of these 14 Things Designers Notice the First Time They Enter Your Home.

Do you have this bootie (or one similar) in your shoe arsenal?

WOOHOO! New arrivals from Stella & Dot are here!

The boots from my Instagram story last night are still on sale at Macy’s for under $100! I’ve discovered that I need wide-calf boots and these could not fit/ feel better than they do!

Have a great weekend! Let me know what you’re getting up to!

Let me first say that there is literally nothing wrong with being basic at it’s most *ahem* basic level. I like what I like and if a trazillion other girls are also wearing riding boots and herringbone vests and sipping pumpkin spice lattes, so be it. My former roommate and I actually threw a Pumpkin Spice Friendship party. I kid you not. And everyone had a blast!

I found an old-ish Cosmo article that defends basic-ness and my favorite line is:

Liking something popular doesn’t make you lame. Discounting someone for having those same interests, however, does. Own your basic-ness, find your tribe…

(My tribe has a new uniform: my Sissy in law, Phi Sig Little, and I all just got this sweatshirt.)

But Fall has always been my favorite time of year- I hate being hot and love Halloween. I read once, I think in Cosmo too actually, that dressing in fall should actually be more fun because fall clothes have more substance than the dresses we throw on in the summer. I totally agree! I love sweaters and scarves and vests and textures and layers. I also look great in fall colors, tbh. Olive green, deep burgundies, amethyst purples. And with that, I bring you the basic essentials you should probably have for fall.

There’s a little nip in the air- actually, it may not even be a nip it’s just not HAWT. This means that my least favorite time of the year is winding down. I had a pumpkin spice bagel yesterday. Fall is coming. But it’s not quite here yet.

Last night, Bubbles & Bloggers had their August meet up at the Embassy Row Hotel with special guests from  StyleMeBar. We try to pick out a theme for our events, and this month is was “come wearing your favorite summer outfit.” Kind of perfect for the last B&B bash of the summer.

My outfit was one that has been on repeat since June. The dress, which I also have in pink, is a style I wasn’t sure would work on me but I LOVE. I can’t do off the shoulder, but a cold shoulder has been my sassy go-to way to wear the trend. I just have to pop on a great Stella & Dot necklace and the softest loafers (an excellent TJ Maxx find) and I have an outfit in 3 easy steps. I’ve also been carrying around this sweet bag from The Kate Spade at Clarksburg Premium Outlets. You might have noticed it in my engagement pictures– but it makes for a great tote while I’m lugging my life around DC.

I find that I really love a statement necklace to jazz up pretty much any outfit that I wear. Since this dress is solid, I usually grab my York Necklace to add some color and texture to it. And it is absolutely zero secret that I adore Stella & Dot. I still need to spend my reward bucks from the online style session I hosted, but I’m glad I waited becauuuuuse Stella & Dot is offering 25% OFF sale items, which means you can save up to 50% on your favorite pieces! This sale is on now and will expire on Wednesday, 9/6.
