It’s odd how I accidentally created an outfit that is a total metaphor for how I’m feeling right now. While Memorial Day Weekend was super refreshing and relaxing, I’m at the tail end of one of the most stressful springs of my life, and having Monday off this week may have actually been more difficult than not.
In my department, work is cycled through monthly. The end of the month going into a new month is when everything has to be in. Tuesday I was at work from 8am to 8pm entering invoices. I’m taking a half day today to get down to Raleigh for Joannne’s wedding this weekend, so everything that I’d normally have through Monday to do I have to have in by today at noon. On top of that, my intern is leaving so he and I are tag-team training the temp who’s replacing him. Phew.
Between how I’m feeling at work and finishing up the spring of weddings, I’ve just kind of felt like an inner-tube a little deflated and out of sorts. Kind of like there are little holes somewhere that I can’t see letting all my air out. Seeeeee I made the connection! You may have noticed that it’s been a little quiet on LBC1 and that’s because, to put it simply, something had to give. I didn’t do blog stuff this past weekend- I spent the weekend hanging out at the pool, spending downtime with my parents, face-timing with Kendall, and cleaning out the drawers in my Laytonsville house. I just didn’t feel inspired to blog, and I didn’t want to force crap content that I didn’t care about.
Hopefully, things at work will settle down a bit in the next couple weeks, and I’ll have weekends to refresh and renew. I’ll start hitting Corepower again with a vengeance, and I’ll be back to myself. Until then, I’ll just try my best and keep smiling.
