I find it a little poetic that the same week I had scheduled for my #bossbabe gift guide, I was actually picked to be part of one. I am so honored and thrilled that Lee thought my Like a Boss print would be a good fit for her blog post! And it’s too funny that we had and idea to do a gift guide with the same idea behind it. Great minds do think alike.
I want to address something semi-political before I dive into the good stuff. I went through a phase where I really wasn’t sure if I liked the terms boss babe, girl boss, etc. because what’s the difference? We can build our empires just as vast as men so why do we need to add our gender to the term boss? But now I see it as a club. As a boss babe, I am joining so many other women who are carving out a space for themselves- business owners, bloggers, entrepreneurs, role models, activists, advocates. Women who are not afraid to take risks and just do it. I’m proud of that, and they should be too.
And to be perfectly honest, sometimes just getting up, putting on a brave face, and going out into a world that historically sees you as less than is the most boss move of all.
So treat yo’self or a fellow boss babe to something sweet this holiday season because they earned it, and so have you!
