This might seem really silly but the first thing I did when I woke up on September 1st was rearrange my perfumes. I have a collection that’s summer only, a collection that’s fall/winter only, and a couple that I consider year round. I wear perfume every day and I take my scents very seriously. I pick them out based on the mood for the day – usually with a go-to for work (now that I’ve finished Creamy Sunshine, I’m wearing Mon Paris by Yves Saint Laurent that I was given as a gift). For fall, I like smokey but gourmand scents – think toasted marshmallow. I heard about Choco Musk arabian Perfume on tiktok and it seems like it fits right into that, featuring white musk, milk chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, rose, sandalwood, myrrh, amber and spicy notes. Spicy and sweet – the perfect mood for the fall I want. Is it weird that I created an entire look around a perfume?Â

As I read more about the perfume and its complex blend of ingredients, I couldn’t help but be drawn to its description. White musk would provide a smooth and clean base, while milk chocolate and vanilla would introduce a comforting sweetness. The inclusion of cinnamon and spicy notes hinted at the warmth and depth that are so characteristic of autumn fragrances. Rose and sandalwood added a touch of elegance, while myrrh and amber promised a hint of mystery. It was like all the elements of a perfect fall day captured in a bottle.
Is it strange to build an entire outfit around a fragrance? Perhaps to some, but for me, it’s a natural extension of my love for scents. Perfume is not just about smelling good; it’s about feeling good and expressing your personality.
I envisioned a fall outfit that echoed the same notes and moods as the perfume itself. A leather skirt, with its edgy yet timeless appeal, would be the perfect foundation. Its deep, rich texture would complement the warm, smoky notes of the fragrance. Paired with Naturalizer Women’s Jagger Mid Calf Boots, the outfit would strike a balance between sophistication and comfort—a combination I find myself seeking as the days grow shorter.
Accessories are the final touch, and they should not be overlooked. Chunky hoops, for instance, would add a touch of boldness, mirroring the spicy notes in Choco Musk. To carry the fragrance with me throughout the day, I’d opt for ALDO’s Greenwald Crossbody Bag, a chic and practical choice for any season.
Taking the time to choose a perfume that resonates with your mood can set a positive tone for the day ahead. Perfume is more than just a cosmetic; it’s a form of self-expression, a way to indulge in a little luxury, and a reminder to take care of yourself.
It might seem frivolous to some, but for me, the act of selecting a fragrance and curating an outfit around it is a form of self-love. It’s a small daily ritual that brings joy and confidence. So, as I embrace the changing seasons and welcome the warm and spicy scents in my fall perfume collection, I’m reminded that it’s perfectly okay to indulge in what makes you happy.
In a world filled with hectic schedules and endless responsibilities, finding moments of joy and self-care is essential. For me, that moment often begins with the simple act of choosing a perfume that reflects my mood and style. It’s a reminder that self-care can take many forms, even if it involves creating a look around a perfume.
In the end, it’s not just about the perfume itself; it’s about the mood, the memories, and the self-care journey it represents. And that, my friends, is a beautiful way to start a new day, especially on September 1st.
