Last year, my friend Ally sent out adorable Christmas postcards from Minted. She and I were co-presidents of Greeks Go Green together, and she told me how much she loved the idea of saving that much paper going sans envelope. I adopted that idea for our wedding in little ways- our reply cards were postcards as well as our rehearsal dinner invites and our thank you notes.
Kendall and I are so excited to send out Christmas cards this year. We made the decision to wait until after the wedding to do so because folks were already getting so much mail from us last year… plus we have a whole plethora of pictures to chose from.
When Ally visited a few weeks ago, we were talking about photo cards and I asked her (as someone so not big into the wedding industry) if wedding photo Christmas cards were obnoxious- I loved her response. Basically, photo Christmas cards should capture the best moments from the past year, and of course our wedding was our best moment!
I couldn’t make up my mind what kind of card I wanted to go for, so I created a few in my Zazzle shop and let Kendall pick his favorite. I’m actually ordering ours today because from today until November 9th, Zazzle is having 60% off sale on cards & stationery– use code: NOVEMBERSHOP.
I don’t want to show off the one we’re actually going to use, but like I said, I’ve created a few cards this year. Some have photo templates and some are just sweet for the season.
Do you send out Christmas cards? How early do you get/ send them?
