Wedding plans at Pride Rock are moving along quite nicely. This is in large part due to Mama D and her graciously helping out with phone calls and appointments, but I do have to say that The Mayflower is the world’s best venue and they make things pretty easy with their super inclusive package. Our wedding cake from Fluffy Thoughts is actually included!
So on Saturday, Mama and Daddy D met us at their darling little location in Virginia for a tasting and to talk design. We picked out 4 flavors ahead of time and tasted them all with a combination of fillings and icing. The cakes were basically deconstructed so tried a bit of this and that and came up with something all our own. It was super fun and I don’t think we could have gone wrong with any of the choices.
I like to get a little dressed up any time I do anything for this wedding. I wanted an outfit that could take me from the tasting to dinner and a comedy show in the evening and I’ve been looking for a reason to wear this sweater/ vest combo. Once again, something my mom picked up on her travels. The vest is SO cozy.
Funny story about the flats. Kristyn had them way before me and I’ve had my eye on them since. I snagged them for 50% off during a recent sale. But then, somehow, they got delivered to the building down the block from me. Before I knew this, I contacted Ann Taylor to let them know the tracking said delivered but they never showed up. They refunded me. I felt so guilty when I tracked them down that I actually let them know, but they never took the money back. SO I got them for free, with a free conscious to boot.
