I haven’t posted in quite a bit because life has gotten in the way but I decided I really wanted to give an update on my current makeup routine. My skin just keeps getting better and better and I think it’s because I treat my makeup like skincare now. For summer (and honestly year-round) I like to keep things peachy and glowy and not overdone… at least for work. One the weekends I like to do a full face if I’m going anywhere, but my everyday is pretty paired down.

I got my TULA Daily SPF 30 Sunscreen (I think) in a FabFitFun box when I was still getting those, and while I actually love everything about it – from the whippy texture to how it makes my skin feel to the smell – I don’t think I’ll buy it on my own because of the price point at close to $40 a tube. I actually like it better than my old fave, Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40 at the same price point, but I’m going to try the e.l.f. SKIN Suntouchable Whoa Glow SPF 30 that comes in under $15. If I don’t love that, I’ll consider switching perminently to the Tula.Â
I’ve already swapped out my DR. JART+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment for the more-budget-friendly Cica Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment and I couldn’t be more pleased. I’ve talked before on how I sometimes will prefer a product simply because of how it’s packaged, and I love that this is little pump situation rather than a pot. The latter is not quite as hydrating as the former, but it also stays on better and doesn’t have quite as much as an orange tint.Â
I got addicted to the dewy look my Jones Road Shimmer Face Oil gave me, but, again, didn’t love the price. Enter L’Oreal Paris Makeup True Match Lumi Glotion. I put it right on top of the color corrector and it just gives me a nice glow.Â
The Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek was another something I got a sample of. The intial color is wonderful and it’s easy to blend, but I feel like this is the makeup that is, for some reason, just gone by the end of the day, even though I do use a setting spray daily. As an e.l.f. stan, I’ll be trying e.l.f. Camo Liquid Blush in perfect peach next.
I really loved the TULA Skin Care Eye Balm in Rose Glow, which was, again, in a FabFitFun box, but the e.l.f. Cosmetics Daily Dew Stick is a perfect dupe. If anything, it’s event better, at a fraction of the price, because the stick itself is bigger. It truly is cooling and gives just a little bit of a hightlight.Â
For an everyday eyeshadow, the wet n wild Color Icon Cream Eyeshadow Multi-Stick is absolutely perfect. I like a pinky brown with a shimmer for my eye and this goes on really nicely with a great color payoff.
Blue and green-eyed girlies – let me turn you on to brown eyeshadow. I’m loving Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Washable Mascara in true brown. Because of allergies and the fact I cannot stop rubbing my eyes, I only swipe on my top lashes for a normal work look, but it still makes my eyes pop. As far as brows? Eh. I can’r really get excited about brow gel but e.l.f. wow brow gel is decent and obviously I trust the brand.Â
My favorite lip product right now is tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Balm. It smells/tastes so good and I’ve always been a fan of a glossy lip. I’m honestly not sure what color I have since I got it such a long time ago, but I still haven’t run outand will definately get it again once I do.Â
