Getting my foundation match at Sephora right before my wedding was a big game changer for the entire way I looked at color for myself. I didn’t realize before that point that I had a golden undertone to my fair skin, but it make a lot of sense that I do since my mom is largely Italian and takes after her Italian grandmother in a lot of ways, genetically.
I’ve started slowly gravitating toward warmer colors, but keeping greens and navy. If I wear blush pink, it needs to be a more peachy undertone vs a cooler tone. The best way I can show you my ideal color palette is below.

I know that being mostly at home and under a mask otherwise, I can probably skip makeup altogether. I don’t skip makeup for a couple of reasons. First of all, I just feel better when I have a little something on my face. Right now, if I’m home, that means Cicapairâ„¢ Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30, Cloud Paint, and lights, camera, lashesâ„¢. This is bad, but the second reason is that if I am wearing even a little bit of makeup, I am less likely to pick at my maskne.Â
When I was in high school, I wore a lot of BLACK eyeliner and crazy bright colors and a lot of purples. I now like golds and roses and browns. That just comes off softer, somehow. I keep my makeup routine really pretty simple, but especially while wearing a mask, I like to show off my eyes. I reach for shades of gold now almost every time.
