I promised yesterday that I would have a whole other post singing the praises of the amazing people who helped make the Bubbles & Bloggers Barbie Brunch the smashing success that it was. When I told Dani that I’d love to help plan our March meetup because it’s my birthday month, I was thrilled that not only did she take me up on it, but that she took my suggestion of hosting at Hawthorne and making the theme Barbie!
Coincidentally, Margo from Fox Fête messaged me that same week asking if I she could provide some of her adorable decorations for an upcoming event. UM. YES. PERFECT! She sent the cutest little care package with a custom banner that said BUBBLES, a decor kit (in pink!), and gold straws. It was the sweetest touch to our brunch.
Planning an event with Hawthorne was so incredibly easy. Kati, their Director of Events and Marketing, was super responsive to all our emails. She even helped direct us to the best way of going about planning for a large group. While I’m not sure how many ladies we actually hosted, our number was originally around 30. For large groups, Kati suggested a family style brunch. The sweet potato waffles with perfectly seasoned fried chicken were my favorite, but I would have happily eaten the french toast all day as well.
When I got to Hawthorne early to set up, Kati had already done most of the work for us with custom menus and adorable mini champs bottles (also customized). She helped me set up the Fox Fête decor and in about 10 minutes, everything was done. The icing on the cake was getting to meet the Hawthorne owner, Fritz Brogan, who I have never met but felt like I knew from his amazing restaurants. He actually used an app to change all the lights in the room to be PINK! How sweet is that?
Hawthorne could not have been more accommodating. Not only did our numbers change several times, but we also had a few ladies with dietary restrictions and/ or who didn’t drink. They were taken care of spectacularly, even straying away from the set menu. Schuyler, our amazing waitress, kept the bubbles coming for those of us who do love a boozy brunch. Fritz put on the 90s jams, and it was a huge party! The space was had was really conducive to moving around and chatting… and dancing. It was an amazing event.
Thank you to Hawthorne for having us and taking care of us and to Fox Fête for giving us that extra sweetness for our decor!
