I used to always want blue eyes, that is until I saw a chart where my exact eye color was a choice of color contact. My eyes were no longer green, but had a goofy name like Caribbean sunset or something. That same summer, someone told me my eyes were tie dye, and apparently, very cool. I have an orange circle in the middle that I’d never appreciated before that. At the time, I was coming off being horribly bullied by some girls in middle school, and I clung to having pretty eyes like a security blanket. To this day, no matter how not confident I’m feeling on a particular day, I always love my eyes. These eyes have seen a hell of a lot, cried a ton of tears, given away every feeling I’ve ever had, and survived years of cheap eyeliner. I love my eyes, and I think it’s kind of great that eyes are being celebrated as a fashion and accessory motif.
