In my opinion, lavender is one of the prettiest colors, scents, and flavors. I got hooked on lavender lattes when I worked for a law firm that had a free coffee bar for employees and guests. It sounded bizarre but I had to try it and the CaroLatte was born: iced coffee, almond milk (oat milk now if I have the option), and one pump lavender syrup. At my little coffee bar at home, I have Organic Lavender Flowers that I add to my coffee when I brew it. It’s just an extra little treat. What kind of funny is that when I went to find the flowers to link, I have 28 Amazon orders matching “lavender“.
I know that I like.
But why is it that I am so drawn to lavender? Sure it smells and looks and tastes nice, but so does rose and I’m not nearly as big of a fan. The fragrance from the oils of the lavender plant is believed to help promote calmness and wellness. It’s also said to help reduce stress, anxiety, and possibly even mild pain. As it does have a calming effect, the scent can also be used as a sleep aid, but did you know that aromatherapy can help patients manage the side effects of cancer treatment? Aromatherapy may also help adults who suffer from dementia. When applied to the skin, lavender oils have shown positive results in helping with eczema, acne, sunburns, and diaper rash.
Basically, it’s something soothing that you can add to your routine to feel a little extra luxurious. How do you lavender?
