I have to be very specific about the colors I wear. To quote a nice young lady at Sephora who color-matched me, I’m “complicated. Fair with a yellow undertone. That doesn’t usually happen.”
I would like to thank my Italian mother and Eastern European father for that.
Recently, I took a risk with this dress from Rent the Runway and loved it. It was kind of a bold switch for me, but I realized that the color worked because it had a richer tone than just yellow, and the color that works for me is, in fact, marigold. And no wonder I liked wearing it so much,
Bright and colorful Marigolds are also symbols of the beauty of the sun. Their appearance even resembles the sun and its warm rays and it is certainly a stand-out part of every flower arrangement.
Color yellow symbolizes positive feelings, happiness and joy. The Marigolds flower has its own symbolic meaning and the color yellow certainly complements this symbolism. The symbolic meaning of Marigolds flower is also related to the sun and partly because of its bright and sun-like yellow color.
While I probably won’t rush out and replace everything I own in a color that could still be tricky for me to wear, I do like how the sunshine-y marigold makes me feel, and I found some sweet ways to bring them into your surroundings if you also believe in the power of colors.
It’s timely too! Marigolds are the birth flower for the month of October!
