Officially, I have no idea when I’m going back into the office full-time, so it might mean that by the time I move back to DC, I won’t need to have an at-home setup. But if 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that we need to expect the unexpected. I’m also willing to bet that there will be more flexibility in the office. For example, my office never closed for weather-related reasons. I’m guessing that going forward, I might not have to tromp downtown if there’s a lot of snow. All speculation.
While I don’t know what the future of my office holds, I do know that I love being able to pop onto my work computer from home to answer emails etc. quickly vs. using my phone. Occasionally, in the before times, I’ve had to deal with after hours travel issues, etc. that would have been way easier if I did have a similar setup. I can’t imagine going forward without this ease of working from home.
I like having my office space in Candace’s room. It’s cozy and it makes it so I’m not working where I sleep. I definitely want to keep that up when I get my apartment, and have a designated spot for work. I want it to flow with the rest of the space, and since it’ll be in the living room, I found a desk that goes with the rest of the furniture.
