Rose quartz + serenity

For the first time Pantone introduces two shades, Rose Quartz and Serenity as the PANTONE Color of the Year 2016. Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times. –from the Pantone website

I know that with fall coming, we are allll about that burgundy + olive life… earth tones to match the flora of the season. That’s all well and good, but I don’t think we can discount pastels just because it’s getting cooler. At the time of writing this, I’m actually wearing my tie dye tshirt dress over leggings, comfy as can be after an evening walk with Kendall. It’s just starting to cool down in DC and I love it, but I’ll keep wearing my ice cream colors.

I was so excited when Pantone picked one of my favorite combos as their color of the year for 2016. I can’t wait to see what the color of the year for 2017 will be, but in the meantime, I’m going to continue to celebrate the rose quartz + serenity duo.
