I’ve heard Refine mentioned a lot since I started blogging, but I didn’t really understand what it was until the Bubbles + Bloggers girls started talking about it. I knew it was a boutique, but you can’t fully understand it until you’ve been in. You have to make an appointment to go shopping there, and last Tuesday we organized a little girls’ night to go see Tanya at her NW DC shop.
Stepping into Refine is like stepping into your best friend’s closet. It’s not a huge space, hence needing an appointment, but everything in it is impeccable quality. Imagine like the antithesis of fast fashion like Forever 21. Everything is organized by color family for easy shopping, and we ended up just hanging out with Tanya waaaaay longer than our appointment. I tried on a couple things, but as I’m trying to save some money for the move/ a big trip coming up, decided against purchasing. I have to say though, the navy tie-dye maxi dress I tried on is haunting me and I’m regretting not snagging that when I had the chance.
Tanya was an extremely gracious hostess, and I loved chatting with her as we sipped wine and watched each other try on clothes. She also has this adorable nugget of a French bulldog, Andi, who fit right in- you may have seen snaps of her that night. Tanya knows style and what works on different body types and it was like having a gal pal who knows you well hand-pick clothes for you. I actually think my favorite part of the night was hearing Tanya tell Roxanne, “you can try on those pants in a different size but I’m not letting you walk out of them in a different size because you won’t be happy.”
You can book your own appointment by contacting Tanya at refineboutique@gmail.com or giving her a call at 240Â 467Â 5917.
