I sometimes think of my blog as a paper doll or a mood board. It’s a place for my to put together looks that I may not ever wear IRL and that’s ok. Finding inspiration from other bloggers, or even one element of an outfit online can spark a whole look for me. This is one of those looks.
I have said multiple times that dressing for work is hard for me in the summer. I’m just kind of hot and miserable. Kristyn posted this Embellished Sheath Dress on Instagram a couple weeks ago and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. I haven’t pulled the trigger on it because I haven’t decided about shopping for new work clothes before I start my new job, but it’s definitely on my wish list!
A dress like that doesn’t really need a necklace because of the embellishments, but I think the Piña Studs compliment the beading on the dress perfectly.
The bags I use for day-to-day need to be big enough for my planner, my wallet, phone, ipod, headphones, and “social pouchy” (the silly name by bestie and I call the pouches we move from purse to purse that’s pre-packed with essentials like mini-brushes and perfume samples). The Ted Baker London Blossom Leather Tote fits the bill AND it has cherry blossoms on it’ so this DC girl approves.
I’m kind of a little booboo b*tch when it comes to wearing heels. Just not a fan and I complain about my feet hurting and it’s bad time for everyone involved. The exception comes in two forms: a low, block heel, or a sweet pair of espadrilles like these Caterina Scalloped Cutout Suede Wedge Espadrilles.
It’s cooling down a bit (for now) but aside from that, offices are always chilly. I always keep a cardigan or a scarf like the Badgley Mischka Ocelot Jacquard Wrap at my desk. And don’t forget a great pair of sunnies like these Round Cat Eye Sunglasses, which have 100% UV protection.
Have you ever seen a piece that inspired a whole look?
