Happy Friday! I’m leaving today for a long weekend with one of my best friends, my mom, and her best friend for the BEST annual tradition- CHOWDERFEST, HERE WE COME! If you followed my old blog, you’ll know it’s just about my favorite time of year. All the merchants of Long Beach Island, NJ have amazing sales on Saturday. Sunday is the actual chowder cook-off. I leave my favorite place with a lighter wallet and a heavy (but happy) tummy!
I finally read the entire Vogue round-table about Milan fashion week where fashion bloggers are bashed. I am careful to say that I’m not a “fashion” blogger but rather a “style” blogger. The clothes I wear are not necessarily risky- I dress for regular women who may want to step outside the box a bit but still live in the real world. However, I find it deplorable that these Vogue writers got so nasty about fashion bloggers. The irony of this statement: The fashion world can all too easily feel like an impenetrable bubble, and no more so than when you’re working all hours and through the weekends in a foreign country. That is exactly what the women you’re bashing are doing! Sorry not sorry that they (we?) are penetrating your bubble, Vogue!
