TGIF

Happy Friday! Looks like storms all weekend after this gorgeous week but that means it’s a good weekend to do laundry, keep purging things out of the apartment, and cuddle up with the book I’m reading: The Bazaar of Bad Dreams: Stories by Stephen King. It’s almost more Twilight Zone creepy than actually scary, so far, but the best part is he does a brief intro before each story explaining his inspiration. What are you reading right now?

I’m currently waiting on delivery of SPANX Faux Leather Moto Leggings (kind of an experiment I have no idea how they’ll work for me) and the Steve Madden Cliff Sneakers. I essentially got the sneakers fo’ free because of the Nordstrom notes I got for their site being wonky the day the #NSale started.

I’m been munching on fruit a lot (an annual summer thing for me) and Strawberry Pineapple Salsa combines so many of my favorite flavors! via Way Better Snacks

Mean Girls is, like, totally a classic. And Dylan’s Candy Bar has some of the cutest Mean Girls merch I’ve ever seen.

We know that Starbs is phasing out their straws, but I love this idea  from La Tour Cycle Cafe in Great Britain that goes way further: serve coffee in donated ceramic mugs. (via Return to Now) What’s interesting is that when folks bring back their mugs if they took their beverage to go, they often come back with more! Think about how many mugs you have in your cupboard. I would love to see places in DC implement the same strategies. In the meantime, don’t forget you can save $.10 a cup at Starbucks if you bring in your own cup!
