I don’t really consider myself a beauty blogger because I’m like 75% clueless when it comes to makeup. I know what colors and shades I should be using, I suppose, but I don’t really have any idea what I’m doing, nor do I have any interest in becoming a beauty guru. I certainly think it’s an art; I love getting professionally dolled up on occasion and admire those who know what they’re doing. Lookin’ at my friend Cris, especially. HEY GIRL!
I will, however, give myself that I’m a bit of a drugstore skincare maven. It’s taken years of perfecting, but I finally have my skincare routine down. None of it is fancy, but I’ve had two people in the past week tell me they can’t believe I’m approaching 30 and I’ll attribute a large part of that to the fact I have, really, pretty good skin. I think I can tell where wrinkles will be, but I don’t have any yet.
My biggest issue in perfecting my skincare routine is that I’m a sucker for a pretty packaging. If it’s looks interesting, I want to try it. I don’t really want to replace any of my skincare products, but when I saw a beautiful sparkly bottle of Physicians Illuminating Argan Oil, I knew I wanted to add a little somethin’ somethin’. But what exactly does argan oil do?
VIRGIN ARGAN OIL by Leven Rose
Argan oil is a natural moisturizer that can be used for skin and hair. As a skin moisturizer, its high vitamin E and fatty acid content makes it the ideal product to give skin a natural boost, without leaving it greasy. It can also give skin a youthful glow and reduce the visibility of wrinkles. Its anti-oxidant effect makes argan oil the ideal anti-aging product, restoring elasticity and leaving skin feeling plumper and softer. Applying a small amount of oil directly to dry or irritated skin can provide relief and encourage healing. If you have acne, since argan oil is non-greasy, it helps to balance skin by providing natural moisture. Argan oil also contains anti-oxidants which help to heal damaged skin cells and reduce inflammation.
I’d be afraid to put the actual oil in my hair, but I do use a conditioner with argan oil in it. The properties of argan oil tames frizz, treats split ends, adds shine, and acts as a protectant if you style with heated tools.
