When it comes to your vendors, it’s crucial to pick well, as these are the people who will be providing the services that make up a huge part of your day. And some vendors in particular are extremely important. Here are just three of them that it’s worth spending the time and really doing your research with.

When you spend so much time, money and effort on your wedding, you of course want beautiful photos to look back on. Different wedding photographers will have very different styles, so you need to spend time searching through portfolios until you find one that suits what you’re after. Read reviews from previous clients and think carefully about which one stands out to you most that works with your budget. Create a shortlist, finding out which of them are available on the date of your wedding. Then you’re finally ready to book a photographer. Make sure you have a chat before the big day, ideally in person but if not via Skype or over the phone. You can ask any questions and let them know if there’s anything specific you’re after. A good photographer will know all of the best shots to take, but if there’s something in particular you want then make sure they’re aware of it.
Makeup Artist and Hairdresser
Every woman wants to feel beautiful on her wedding day. You’ve spent so much money, time and effort choosing the perfect wedding dress so you can feel like a princess, your makeup artist and hairdresser and the people who will be finishing the look. You need to know exactly what kind of look you want, and that your makeup and hair professionals are on board with this too. Ideally, you will show them plenty of pictures of the sort of look you’re after, and have a trial run before the big day. There have been horror stories of brides made to look like drag queens due to inexperienced beauticians, or miscommunications about what they wanted. Don’t take the risk, go with someone who’s experienced in wedding makeup/ hair and again spend time looking through reviews and portfolios of previous work.
Caterers
Your wedding meal will be one of the most memorable meals of your life. After all, how often do you get to sit down and enjoy food with everyone you love and care about? Your wedding food is also a nice way to look after your guests after they have spent a considerable amount of time and money attending your big day. Find out what cuts of meat will be used to determine the quality, whether organic and free range ingredients will be used. Good caterers will offer a sample menu that you can taste before the big day so you can check everything is the quality you’re looking for. Be sure that they can cater for vegans, vegetarians, and allergies too if any of your guests require this.
