Even though I’m really not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day, I love the aesthetic. Pink and hearts are kinda my jam. I used to draw a heart on my hand in the same place every day whenever I actaully have to use a pen. You may have seen the ribbed heart pillow on my instagram stories earlier this week. Being in my own place, I can surround myself with as much pink and fluff as I want. Not only is nobody going to tell me to do otherwise, I think my friends and family embrace that I am embrassing whatever style I damn well want.
That style happens to be extremely girly boarding on kitsch. I’m also finding that my home doesn’t quite fit into one box, aesthetically. My living room furniture is kind of industrial with pops of MCM and a really eclectic art collection. My bedroom has kind of an 80s vibe. The guy who installed the sconses in my bedroom said the whole thing looked 90s. Who knows. I don’t care. I love it.
And I love that this silly made-up holiday comes with everything hearts.
