There are showers… and then there’s the everything shower.

The everything shower isn’t rushed. It isn’t utilitarian. It’s the kind of shower where you light a candle, queue a comforting playlist, and commit to doing things properly. It’s skincare. It’s haircare. It’s ritual. It’s scent layering. It’s the moment where you wash off the week and step out feeling like the softest, most put-together version of yourself.

Today I’m walking you through my full everything shower routine, with a special focus on the scent collection I’m using right now — a cozy, creamy, vanilla-leaning lineup that feels clean, comforting, and quietly indulgent. This routine prioritizes scalp health, smooth skin, gentle cleansing, and long-lasting softness without overwhelming fragrance.

If you love vanilla, skin-safe products, and intentional self-care, this one’s for you.

What Is an Everything Shower?

An everything shower is a longer, more intentional shower where you do all the steps you don’t have time for every day:

  • Scalp detox

  • Double shampoo

  • Full body exfoliation

  • Deep cleansing

  • Shaving

  • Conditioning

  • Face washing

  • Scent layering

It’s the reset button — especially perfect before a busy week, a big event, or anytime you want to feel extra grounded in your body.

My Everything Shower Order (In Exact Sequence)

Order matters here. This routine is designed to maximize results while keeping skin calm and hair soft:

  1. Hair detox

  2. First shampoo

  3. Rinse

  4. Second shampoo

  5. Body scrub

  6. Body wash (with scrub brush for back)

  7. Conditioner

  8. Dove Sensitive for sensitive areas

  9. Bar soap all-over cleanse

  10. Shave oil

  11. Face wash

Now let’s break it down — step by step.

Step 1: Scalp Detox (The Foundation of Good Hair)

I always start my everything shower with Pacifica Rosemary Detox Scalp Scrub.

This step is non-negotiable for me. If you use dry shampoo, styling products, or even just want better volume and scalp health, a detox scrub makes a noticeable difference.

  • Gently exfoliates buildup

  • Refreshes the scalp without stripping

  • Helps shampoos work better afterward

The rosemary scent is fresh and herbal, which creates a clean contrast to the sweeter vanilla notes later in the routine.

Pro tip: Massage it in slowly and let it sit for a minute before rinsing.

Step 2 & 3: First Shampoo + Rinse

Next, I go in with the Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Sulfate-Free Shampoo for my first cleanse.

This first shampoo is about removing surface buildup — oils, sweat, and residue loosened by the scalp scrub. Don’t expect massive lather here; that’s normal and actually a good sign.

Rinse thoroughly.

Step 4: Second Shampoo (Where the Magic Happens)

I repeat with the same shampoo for my second cleanse.

This is where you’ll get that richer lather and truly clean feeling. The Black Vanilla scent is warm, comforting, and creamy — not sugary, not artificial. It’s one of those scents that feels like a hug.

This second shampoo sets the tone for the rest of the shower: soft, cozy, and calm.

Step 5: Body Scrub (Soft Skin Starts Here)

Now that my hair is clean, I move into body care with Tree Hut Flower Milk Shea Sugar Scrub.

This is where the shower starts to feel luxurious.

  • Sugar exfoliation smooths without being harsh

  • Shea butter leaves skin moisturized

  • The floral-milky scent blends beautifully with vanilla

I focus on arms, legs, and anywhere I want extra softness. Rinse well before moving on.

Step 6: Body Wash (Including Back Scrub)

Next is Pacifica Island Vanilla Body Wash, applied with a scrub brush for my back.

This scent is a true soft vanilla — warm, beachy, and comforting without being heavy. Using a scrub brush helps cleanse hard-to-reach areas and adds gentle exfoliation without irritation.

This is also where scent layering really begins. The vanilla notes start building on the skin in a subtle, skin-scent way.

Step 7: Conditioner (Seal the Hair)

Now I apply Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Conditioner from mid-lengths to ends.

I let this sit while I finish the rest of my shower. It helps:

  • Restore moisture

  • Enhance shine

  • Lock in softness

The scent lingers gently without overpowering — perfect if you like your hair to smell clean, not perfumed.

Step 8: Dove Sensitive for Sensitive Areas

For sensitive areas, I always use Dove Beauty Bar Soap Sensitive.

It’s gentle, fragrance-minimal, and dependable — exactly what you want for skin that needs extra care.

Step 9: Bar Soap All-Over Cleanse

After body wash, I like a final all-over cleanse with bar soap. I rotate between:

  • Dove Beauty Bar Soap Pink Rosa for a soft, classic clean

  • Dove Sensitive if my skin feels reactive

This step might seem extra, but it gives that ultra-clean, polished feeling — like stepping out of a spa.

Step 10: Shave Oil (Soft, Cozy Finish)

For shaving, I use EOS Cashmere Shave Oil – Fresh & Cozy.

This is one of my favorite parts of the routine.

  • Ultra-slick texture prevents irritation

  • Leaves skin insanely soft

  • The cozy scent layers beautifully with vanilla

It doesn’t compete with the other products — it enhances them.

Step 11: Face Wash (Last, Always)

I finish my shower with CeraVe Renewing Salicylic Acid Cleanser.

Doing face wash last ensures all conditioner residue is gone and pores are clean. This cleanser gently exfoliates without stripping and keeps my skin smooth and clear.

The Scent Story: Why This Collection Works Together

What makes this everything shower special is how cohesive the scents are.

  • Herbal rosemary → clean opening

  • Creamy vanilla → comforting core

  • Milky florals → softness

  • Cozy cashmere → skin warmth

Nothing clashes. Nothing screams. Everything layers quietly, so when you step out of the shower, your skin smells like you, but better.

Final Thoughts: The Everything Shower as Self-Care

An everything shower isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence.

It’s taking the time to care for your body, reset your mind, and reconnect with yourself. This routine leaves me feeling soft, grounded, and put together in a way that carries into the rest of my day.

If you’ve been craving a reset, a ritual, or just a moment to yourself, I can’t recommend creating your own everything shower enough.

Soft skin. Clean hair. Cozy scent. Calm energy.

That’s the goal.
