Now that everyone’s wallets have just about recovered from the festive season, you’re probably thinking about where to go for your next vacation. When you’re planning a lengthy trip, you want to make sure you are going somewhere that offers plenty of variety. After all, no one wants to book a three week trip and spend the last seven days sat twiddling their thumbs! Thankfully, one place that has it all is Australia – in particular Western Australia. This coastline is one of the most famous parts of the land down under, as it boasts some of the most diverse landscapes, stunning views and best cultural attractions the whole country has to offer. If you are planning a trip there soon, here some of the absolute West-Australia must-do’s that you can’t afford to miss.
Cervantes
Want to visit a big city like Perth while you are in Australia, but would rather lay your head somewhere quieter and with more quieter? The coastal town of  Cervantes lies just a two hour drive from Perth and offers a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere as well as some beautiful white sandy beaches. It is the perfect place to simply relax and wander round with a good coffee as your marvel at the beautiful wildflowers and the azure, turquoise waters. As far as cultural attractions go, Cervantes is home to one of the most iconic sights in all of Western Australia: The Pinnacles. The Pinnacles are tall, thin limestone spires that rise out of the desert floor in Nambung National Park. The desolate landscape and the magnitude of the huge rocks is said to give visitors the impression that they are on a different planet entirely.
Kimberley
The Kimberley is a huge frontier of Western Australia, known for it’s remote atmosphere and stunning natural wonders. It is three times the size of England yet is home to a population of just 40,000 people – making it one of the most sparsely inhabited places on the planet. It is authentic Australian outback – featuring enormous canyons, an abundance of wildlife and freshwater swimming holes. The town of Broome is a great place to stay as it is home to a 22 km strip of white sandy beach, on which daily camel rides happen at sundown. In order to see everything that the Kimberley has to offer, you are best booking one of the luxury kimberley tours, so you can really see it in style.
Rottnest Island
If you have decided to make Perth your base while exploring Western Australia, don’t worry – you can still experience the wilderness that Australia has to offer even while staying in the city. For example, just a short ferry ride away from Perth lies Rottnest Island. It is an idyllic place, known for it’s 62 beaches and also for not permitting any cars to drive on the island. If snorkeling is your thing, there is plenty of coral to see below the waves in this crystal clear water. While on Rottnest Island you also have the chance to meet its native animal, the quokka – a mini marsupial not found in any other location on Earth.
