In 2016, after realizing there was a lack of inclusive blogger networking groups in the DC area, Dani, of Blonde in the District, created Bubbles & Bloggers- a monthly meet up for local bloggers to meet and connect over brunch. Bubbles & Bloggers grew to over 200+ members and with the growth, the monthly meet-ups out grew brunch and spanned happy hours, wine tours, workout classes, shopping events, and more. With the continued interest of other creatives who weren’t bloggers to join Bubbles & Bloggers, Dani came up with the idea to re-brand the group, to encompass all creatives, instead of bloggers only. As of April 2019, The District Creates was born for the DC local influencing and creative community.
The District Creates is a place for bloggers, influencers, artists, photographers, stylists, local business owners, and more, to meet in an inclusive social setting and promotes community and support among the otherwise competitive industry. We welcome creatives of all kinds, with the stipulation that each creative must have a valid and up-to-date website or social media page dedicated to their work in order to join.
The name The District Creates envisions the goals of the group to create content, collaborations, connections, friendships, partnership, and most importantly- inspiration, all within an inclusive and supportive community for DC influencers and creatives.
