I’m very fortunate to have friends who indulge in an nurture my creative side. Admittedly, I am not super artistic in a traditional sense. I wasn’t allowed to help make sorority awards in college because my penmanship was so bad, but get me in front of a computer and I like to think I have a good eye for design.

My friend Ally asked me to help her create a super special collection last year- an whole suite for her elopement to her husband Jon. You can read her post on elopement here, and check out the rest of her blog!  My wedding was the opposite of eloping, and Ally’s tastes are different than mine, but I love what we came up with together. She really gave me the reigns to start the project, but we fine-tuned the fonts, wording, etc.  Obviously, the below is not exactly what we came up with for her, but I turned her suite into a template that I can sell on my Zazzle.

Simple Olive Branch
I was just as psyched and honored to create a really cool Christmas suite for her. We had a bit of challenge here, the suite needed to include:
A Christmas card, a change of address, and an invitation to the one-year anniversary party they’re having in lieu of a wedding reception. We ended up using similar fonts and incorporating their wedding logo into into the set, but jazzed it up with the holly motif throughout. The color on the background was actually picked up from her ivory dress.
Because there was so much info we wanted to include, we utilized the back and front of two cards: the one above is their Christmas message, with their new home address on the back. A smaller card to fit in the same envelope was the invite to their party this summer, as well as info for their RSVP and another picture from their elopement. Also included in the suite was a return address label, a sticker with their logo to seal with envelopes, and a first Christmas ornament with their logo to match.
Ally and Jon first Christmas ornamentFor their elopement set, Ally had me just send her the designs and she had them printed at a local printer on kraft paper, which I loved! And even put my site on the back (I refused for her Christmas suite, since we had info on the back and front of the cards and I didn’t want it to look too cluttered). For the Christmas stuff, she ordered straight through Zazzle.
What this post is getting at is that I’d like to do more of this kind of work. I had way more fun working with Ally than I do creating templates (which is why I kind of stopped doing them in my shop). Let me know if you have something you’d like me to create for you- either a design for you to have printed at your favorite print shop, or something to order from Zazzle!
At least for now, I’m going to price my designs at $25 for the initial design, and $10 for the design of anything additional- so a wedding invitation would be $25 and then the corresponding RSVP card would be $10. The would only include the design, which I could either send to you or post to Zazzle for you to purchase at your convenience.
Thank you Ally for taking a chance on me and letting me create something special for you and Jon!
