My 2018 Personal Planner was given to me free of charge for a review. As always, opinions are my own.

If you’ve been following my blog or listening to me speak for the past couple of years, you’ll know that I had a total love affair with my Posypaper planner. This year, I got an itch to make my planner even more custom and went on a search for a company that could incorporate one of my designs from my Etsy shop into a planner, specifically, my Like A Boss design.

With Personal Planner, not only do you get to customize the cover, but this is your planner from soup to nuts. Let me walk you through it:

Size:I chose classic, because I wanted it to fit comfortably in most of my purses. I could see the Big being a perfect size for teachers!

Cover Picture:

This was obviously what I was the most excited about. I was able to upload my Like A Boss design to the front, and use one of their pretty marble designs for the back. I opted to not have my name on this one, but the year is on my back cover. I also chose the gold elastic enclosure, but I honestly after a couple of weeks of schlepping the thing to work, that is long gone- probably in one of my black hole purses. You can also choose your start month and year- either to order ahead or catch up if you’re tardy to the party!

From there it’s mostly functional- the layout of the pages (the combination of options is virtually limitless), picking out what you want your “extra” pages to look like (I opted for just extra note space), and even adding a note for daily workouts, if you desire. There’s even an option to start your planner with a little note with your contact info should you lose it.

And, guys, there is pocket.

I’m obviously just into the new year using my Personal Planner, but so far so good! I love the way it’s organized (because I designed it!) and it’s a great size. Because the planners are made in Sweden, definitely allow some time for it to come it, but shipping is included with the price! My only suggestion to Personal Planner (and all planner manufacturers) would be to create a planner that’s not wire bound as my wires tend to bend while bouncing around my work bag. I would love love love if all planners were more like hardcover books. I’m not even sure if this is possible, so until then, I am quite content with and proud of my new planner.

I find it a little poetic that the same week I had scheduled for my #bossbabe gift guide, I was actually picked to be part of one. I am so honored and thrilled that Lee thought my Like a Boss print would be a good fit for her blog post! And it’s too funny that we had and idea to do a gift guide with the same idea behind it. Great minds do think alike.

I want to address something semi-political before I dive into the good stuff. I went through a phase where I really wasn’t sure if I liked the terms boss babe, girl boss, etc. because what’s the difference? We can build our empires just as vast as men so why do we need to add our gender to the term boss? But now I see it as a club. As a boss babe, I am joining so many other women who are carving out a space for themselves- business owners, bloggers, entrepreneurs, role models, activists, advocates. Women who are not afraid to take risks and just do it. I’m proud of that, and they should be too.

And to be perfectly honest, sometimes just getting up, putting on a brave face, and going out into a world that historically sees you as less than is the most boss move of all.

So treat yo’self or a fellow boss babe to something sweet this holiday season because they earned it, and so have you!

Really it’s more of a tale of learning and too much excitement.

So I’m like really into creating and ideas and big plans and not so great at actual execution. When I do execute, I sometimes jump in too fast and don’t do it well because I’m so excited get it done. That’s what happened last week when I launched my shop in under a week.

The shop is still here. I just decided that Etsy was a much better format and when I figured out I could still integrate it into my blog… well I shut down what I had originally built, redid some of my prints, added more, and there ya go! I’m much happier with how everything looks now, plus I get to really be a part of the Etsy community that I love so much! Win win.

So why did I even announce this? I probably could have just made the change and nobody would be the wiser. It was just a minor setback for me with results that I think will be beneficial. But As a budding baby entrepreneur, I want this experience to grow with me and my readers. I want you to see my ups and downs and hopefully inspire someone else to take a leap at some point to do what they love. I’m even thinking about introducing a new print every week, in the form of a short Sunday post. What do you think?

As a reminder, for the month of October, the 20% of sales from the Marie print will be going to Girls On The Rise in honor of National Bullying Prevention Month.
