First Friday of November and I managed a TGIF post- this bodes well for the rest of the month. It’s going to be a crazy time leading up to the holidizzles, but an exciting one! We have our cake tasting this month, we’re seeing Iliza again, Thanksgiving, another wedding… all good things!

If you’re a Stranger Things fan, I really hope you’re following this twitter account.

No idea how I started following Alissa but I love her posts! How cute is her bar cart?

Speaking of prettiness for homes- woof. West Elm. You’ve outdone yourself with this duvet cover! One day, when I have a guest room, it’ll be pink.

In my perusal of Amazon where I just have a never-ending wish list that I rarely actually buy from- I found a Millennial Pink list. I have lots of thoughts about this which I will put in a whole other post but I’m just super loving this color.

I finally jumped on the loafer slide train with the Siena Haircalf Bow Loafer Slides. I got mine half off free but that’s a story for another time when I can get my life together and do an outfit shoot.

Put on the list of things I absolutely don’t need- China “paper” cups from Tiffany. via Town & Country

I <3 Hocus Pocus as much as the next witch, but what if it isn’t really a good movie? via Entertainment Weekly

Have a great weekend!

Halloween is over and November is here! Last night was kind of funny- Kendall started a journey back again to Mississippi for drill and because it was Tuesday most of my friends were either meh about Halloween or had after work plans. SO I put on a onesie and headed to Chipotes for a $3 burrito bol and then it took me three hours to write this blog post because tired and bol coma.

So here we are. Happy November!

My friend was wearing MAC Turquatic Fragrance at a birthday happy hour last week. It smelled AMAZE and I stalked it like the night I got home.

Surprise surprise, my Charlotte Russe perforated booties are totally falling apart after a year and change. Time for an upgrade- perhaps Vince Camuto Kamey Perforated Booties.

I don’t know if I could ever have enough fuzz in my life. I have a great leopard (faux, obvs.) fur coat- pink fuzz may be next on my list, like this MELODY Faux-Fur Coat.

Seeing as how we watched Strangers Things 2 in, what, 2 days? This Netflixing Definition Sweatshirt seems appropes.

I’m not a huge makeup buff, really. But that doesn’t stop me from eyeing pretty things like the new line from MAC, especially the MAC Snow Ball Face Powder.

Holidays are coming (YUP! ALREADY!) which means it’s like 2 months worth of party paws. Check this Deborah Lippmann Glitter Nail Color in Candy Shop.

Kinda just want this ALTERNATIVE Camo Sweater Dress to wear with my thigh high boots.

I’ve been doing some research on chakras and while I’m usual drawn to all things root chakra, it seems like my sacral chakra in in a little bit of imbalance. I feel like I should try 2nd Chakra Balancing Oil.

These Tassel Earrings look a helluva lot like a brand we all know and love… but they’re under $10.

I’m already feelin’ the season’s chapped lips. Enter VASELINE Limited Edition Pink Bubbly Lip Therapy. (Incidentally, I found this one a Millennial Pink list)

What do you have planned for this November?

While Kendall + I absolutely adore our Glover Park apartment (aka Pride Rock), we often talk about what it’ll be like to have our own home. We’ve done a pretty good job of compromising on decor here- our bedroom is grey, blue, and black; living room is navy, grey, and orange- nothing too girly in either space- but I think we would each love a space that is purely our individual style. I grew up with pink, pink, pink everything, and left that with my college dorm room opting for combos of the colors above instead at my room at my parents’ house and my first apartment.

However, I’m kinda digging the idea of a perfect pink sugary office space for me to expand on my girl boss dreams. Right now my “office” is my spot on the couch, and I’m happy with that for the time being, but a girl can daydream. There will be pink. There will be gold. There will be rose gold. Light, airy, feminine, maybe with a hint of western/ Native American motif.  If you had a space that you could decorate, just for you, what would it look like?

Just like endorphins, pink makes me so happy. I was going though some of my old posts and I found the ASOS Cotton smock dress with frill detail and it honestly made me smile. Pink was always my signature color growing up- Candace in blue, Caroline in pink. That’s how it always went. My bedroom was pink-walled with pink carpeting, and my dorm room was periwinkle and all shades of pink. As for my home decor now, I’ve toned down the pink exponentially (because living with a boy) but we do have subtle pink accents in our bathroom.

I’ve done some research, and with the psychology of the color pink, it’s honestly not surprising that pink has always been a favorite of mine. It’s considered to be feminine and romantic, affectionate and intimate, thoughtful and caring. It tones down the physical passion of red replacing it with a gentle loving energy.

On the negative side (yes, there is a negative side to pink) it can be associated with being physically weak, over-emotional and over-cautious, having emotional neediness or unrealistic expectations, being naive, immature and girlish, lack of will power and lack of self worth. There you have it- the many faults of Caroline.

I’d rather focus on that good stuff though- pink represents empathy and sensitivity, which I think are two of my best traits. And I can wear them , literally, on my sleeve… or foot, or eyes…

ASOS always has a great selection of pink everything. I’m still eyeing the smock dress, but the other pink dresses I love are a little bit more formal (great for wedding guests!) Check out my other favorite ASOS pink bits and let me know- what is your signature color and why?

I don’t know about you, but I find this transition period between winter and spring a little bit awkward. The weather can be so changeable, so it can be hard to know what to wear. The morning might start out overcast and grey, but by the afternoon the sun has come out, and it is nice and warm. Meaning what you’ve gone to work wearing isn’t suited to the weather in the afternoon. The struggle is real! So here are some essentials to get you through the transitional period, and get you ready for the glorious spring weather.

Donald J Pliner Maze Woven Leather Slip-On Sneaker, Light Bronze

Metallics

In spring, it does tend to be all about the colors. Pastels and floral prints are everywhere. But this year I am all about some metallic vibes to complement the color. You could channel the look with a silver midi skirt or a gold jacket. But if you’re not feeling quite bold enough just yet, there are other options for you. Go with some metallic accessories, and you’ll be onto something. It could be some silver flats or brogues. A rose gold clutch or chunky costume jewelry. The key thing to remember is that a little bit of metallic sparkle will go a long way!

Light Pink

As has been said, spring does tend to be about color. But this season I can already tell that light pink is going to be the pastel color of choice. I love how versatile it can be. It can be worn with skirts and shirts, as well as sneakers and accessories. It is a much more subtle color option to wear, which is another reason why I am loving it. You can make the look uber girly too, putting white and soft pink together. Which is what I have been seeing a lot of on social media, like on the Petal Boutique Instagram page. I also like how you can keep things looking a lot more casual with these colors too. Think of some light pink sneakers worn with dungarees, for example.

endless rose Off Shoulder Top with Ruffle Cuffs

Off the Shoulder

Tops worn off the shoulder are a big look for this time of year, and they’ll carry on until the warmth of summer too. There are a lot of tops that are of one shoulder, which make it easier to wear in this transitional period. Not as much skin is on show, so it works if it does suddenly start to rain. But to fully embrace the trend, there are lots of tops that are more bandeau style that sits off both shoulders. But you might want to keep that until we well and truly have some sunshine.

Petite Women’s Jag Jeans Creston Ankle Crop Stretch Twill Pants

Cropped White Pants

Who cares what people say about white, it can be worn whenever you want to. A cropped pair of white pants looks great at this time of year. They look perfect with a floral shirt or a soft pink jacket. They’d look good with a pair of metallic slippers too. The fact that they are cropped makes a difference as it shows you’re embracing the spring vibes.
