If you didn’t know that Thailand was called the Land of Smiles before, just take a trip out there and you will see why. For many, it is the ultimate travel destination – a dizzying mix of bustling megacities, glorious islands, spiritual awakenings, delicious food, and all-night parties. In this article, we are going to be talking about a few of the experiences that you have to enjoy when you are in this wonderful country.

Eat at a Food Market

Though there are plenty of fancy restaurants in the more tourist-heavy parts of Thailand, some of the best food is found on the street. So, grab yourself a tiny stool and sit down at one of the many fine eateries where the food is often cooked outside and you can watch the world rush by in front of you.

Take a Tuk-Tuk Ride

One of the most popular forms of transport around southeast Asia, tuk-tuks are everywhere and the drivers are extremely skilled at navigating the clogged traffic of the big cities with ease. If you have never ridden in one before, you may find this to be a nerve-wracking experience at first, but you will soon get used to it!

Dance All Night at a Full Moon Party

If you are the kind of person that loves to dance and party the night away, you have certainly come to the right place! Make sure you time your arrival on one of the Thai islands with the coming of the full moon. You are in for a night of neon paint, buckets of alcohol, flaming skipping ropes, and plenty of shapes being thrown!

Visit a Floating Market

Sometimes affectionately known as the Venice of the East, Bangkok features plenty of canal networks which flow through the center. Market-sellers of the city have made full use of these waterways by setting up stalls on their boats – a vibrant and colorful sight which you certainly have to see in person.

Bathe an Elephant

While riding an elephant is morally questionable to say the least, you can still get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures by bathing and feeding them in a nature park. Always make sure that you choose where you visit carefully so you can ensure that the elephants are being ethically treated.

Get in Touch with Your Spiritual Side

Thailand is home to a myriad of different temples and holy sites which are worth paying a visit to. You could also try out some Tantra Yoga Thailand or meditation. There are plenty of secluded spots where you can really get in touch with nature and your spiritual side.

Visit a Hill Tribe

Head up to the north of Thailand and you can pay a visit to one of the many hill tribes who have built their own communities and live off the land. There are plenty of organized tours that involve trekking through the forests to reach these secluded people.
