Love is in the air with Valentine’s Day coming up tomorrow so I thought I would get onto one of my personal favorite subjects- weddings! So far I have two in 2017, possibly a third because one of my bests from just got engaged. One is in New York over the summer and the other is Charleston in September. Also- Kendall’s sister has a wedding in the works as do a couple of his friends, potentially. Never-ending love, folks!

I don’t know about you all, but I consider goings to weddings almost like having adult prom. It gives me a chance to get dolled up and dance the night away- whether stag or with my handsome date. Kendall and I love getting dressed up together and we actually coordinated really well for my sorority sister’s wedding this past December.

The first wedding I’m going to the bride told me is going to be “garden cocktail.” I freakin’ LOVE the sound of that. I’m actually going to be wearing a dress I wore in another wedding that I’ve had shortened to cocktail length. I’ve already re-worn it once- the a country farm wedding with cowgirl boots. I’m thinking pairing it this time with pastel heels maybe like these and a floral necklace like this. I am getting my wear out of this dang dress. But I love the idea of garden cocktail. It makes me think of Gatsby parties!

The other wedding is black tie optional for men, gowns for women. The bride, the lovely Sahra, put it this way: I don’t want to see your knees. Hey- the girl has a flair for the dramatic and I respect that! This is a little trickier since at this point the only floor-length formal dress I have is ivory, and even if she says that’s ok, I would still feel so funny about that. One of my cardinal rules of wedding going is that guests should not wear white or white adjacent dresses. To Rent the Runway I will likely go, but I’m going to keep my options open because with my height I often  always need alternations on long dresses.

Is anyone else gearing up for weddings in 2017? I’d love to know all about them! I could trade wedding stories for days! In the meantime, check out my picks for Garden Cocktail + Black Tie! My “budget” picks are under $50!
