In the same way no good story ever started with, “this one time I had a chicken caesar salad,” not successful brand ever good tongues wagging by just slipping into the fold. No. When you’re the new kid on the block, you need to make a splash like a brick landing in a tub of paint and that is done by hosting an event so epic people wouldn’t dare forget you. That is how to get whatever you are launching to skyrocket up and up, through the stratosphere and past the shooting stars that cross in the sky.

It doesn’t matter whether you want to hold a pre-launch event or a launch event, whether it is for a book, a product, a fashion house, model agency, line of cashmere sweaters or a new line of apps that hop to take on Instagram, here are the three ingredients that will ensure your event is a total success:

Venue Is Very Important

Like very. Very-very. Where you decide to host your party is going to speak on behalf of your brand, it is going to etch a first impression into the minds of all those attending and make their hearts twitch with nerves and excitement. So, what we recommend you do is check out these event venues and then decide on which suits you and your brand. Weird, unique, professional, sleek, fun, serious, bonkers or experiential; whatever is going to mimic you best. Just make sure it offers that little thing called convenience because that is why will improve your chances of having a packed place; convenient for guests, clients and, most of all, journalists.

It’s All In The Day

Your gut instinct is no doubt telling you to throw this party on a Friday or Saturday but, unless you can be absolutely sure your event will be considered unmissable, you should ignore this instinct and pick a Wednesday. Most people that work in the media, most VIPs, and most guests would consider a launch party to be business, and so they would rather do this on a school night and leave their weekends free for personal pleasure. A Thursday could work, but they may be thinking about how tiredness could wreck their Friday night plans, while a Tuesday may see them hold back on the booze and you want them to have a good time. So, pick a Wednesday and make it too inviting not to have fun.

Your Invitation Is Powerful

First things first, you need to know who to invite. You need to invite people that are going to have sway, that are going to talk, that need to know about your launch. But don’t just drop them invite, build some rapport in the months prior so that they feel important. Next up, create a sense of exclusivity while also over-inviting. You want people to feel special but you also want there to be an army of people swanning about. Last up, make your invite too intriguing to ignore. Make your invite evoke curiosity. If you use a platform like Splash, you can even stick a password on it to drive home that feeling of exclusivity. Just make sure you send it in plenty of time and that it isn’t conflicting with anything else.
