My apartment is coming together!
It’s finally my apartment, not my future apartment, and while that is exciting in and of itself, I love seeing it all step by step as I add my personal touches.
This past weekend, my friend Sarah, my mom, my friend Jen, and her boyfriend Tim all helped me get as much as I could done before the movers bring and assemble my furniture next Sunday. Tim vs the dresser (Tim won) was a great battle to knock out before the rest of my big stuff comes in. Jen and I put together smaller pieces and got the dining table, bar, book shelf, and bathroom shelf done while he was working on that. There was also Jen and Caro vs a cabinet. The cabinet won and is being returned. BYE.
My bathroom is going to be super-duper girly. We (me? I think a couple of my close friends?) are calling it the Barbie bathroom. I’ve said it before, here, that we had a black and white bathroom with some pink in our old place, but I’ve leveled up. I finally hung up my Kate Spade Deco Dot Shower Curtain, added a hot pink valance with a sparkly curtain rod, and instead of doing patterned bath mats, I stuck with a washable chenille-type black mat.
Where I’m really going to have fun is my bathroom shelf. (Fun? Bathroom shelf? This must be my 30s.) I’ve had to get a little creative because I don’t have a TON of space under my sink and I don’t want to overcrowd my medicine cabinet. Since the shelf is open, I’m going to do a series of trays and baskets to have stuff I use every day handily available, but in an aesthetically pleasing way.

Side note: It is totally bonkers that a Wallflower from Bath and Body Works is going for $40+ on e-bay. I snagged mine last summer because at a NORMAL price. It is available, but I think it’s highway robbery.
